Zenshu ep2-3

Nah, I think I’m done with this. There’s a decent idea rattling around in there somewhere, but outside of the impressive scenes of Natsuko using her summoning power, there’s bafflingly little to it beyond the most standard fantasy tropes and a largely charmless cast of characters. If this was an adaptation of an existing light novel, you would say it was constrained by the source material, but it’s anime original, so Mappa only have themselves to blame. If it goes wildly off-piste and does something else later on, I might come back to it, but I’ll not hold my breath.

Sorairo Utility ep2-3

Been pleasantly surprised by how lively the visuals are in this series. It’s not a Trigger production, but the silly reaction faces and visual gags definitely show their influence. The series isn’t as snappy as Laid Back Camp was at its best, but there’s just an obvious level of care and attention gone into this one that I rather appreciate.

I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic Episode 4

Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms Episode 3

Banished From The Hero's Party etc etc complete season 2: Another lovely look at the quiet life in the country as the romance blossoms between Red and Ritt. Spoilt of course by some intrigue, a couple of monsters and a right nutter. Not sure there's a need for a third season but I wouldn't complain. Can we start a Mr Crawly-Wawly fan club?

Oshi no Ko s2 eps 9-13 (complete)
As with season 1 an interesting look into Japanese entertainment industry along with a central mystery. The first 8/9 deal mostly with theatre production and the problems with manga adaptations and the second part back to the idol group and more revelations in the central plot.
Same nice art and animation. There were some really nice abstract scenes and some pretty good action scenes, although Netflix seems to struggle with lots of fast moving images in these scenes and they got a bit pixelated.
8/10

By the Grace of the Gods S2
Finished.
A lovely show. So enjoyable watching someone trying to have a good life. And the MC isn't a creepy pervert who tries to rape his friend.

I'll become a Villainess who goes Down in History

This'll be fun.

Always nice that, isn't it? 😅

He walked out of a warehouse full of dead bodies and left his son there, saying "Good luck, my son".
So, I'm not sure he does.😲

I'll take your word for it as I only know the character in passing myself! :)

Buddy Daddies Episodes 7-12 COMPLETE (English dubbed) - I loved this so much, I thought it would be good but was pleasantly surprised when it was an utter delight every single episode! :)

A Cheeky Angel still ongoing :)

Red Baron - Episodes 26 - 33

Red Baron continues to be quite formulaic but at the same time the action scenes remain the shows strength, episodes 28 & 32 had some of the best mecha action sequences I have watched in the last few years.

Blue Thermal

I've wanted to watch this since I saw the trailer during the original promotional work for the film. The glider club backdrop was interesting and I would say I liked it but didn't love it. Blue Thermal was breezy, if quite predictable, light entertainment. I thought the interview with Masaki Tachibana in the extras was very interesting, having to compress the whole manga into a film explains why runs at a good pace (which I liked) and I'm intrigued that the ending was changed for the movie, as that was the weakest part of the film for me.

I am so glad you enjoyed Buddy Daddies.
I liked it but not surprisingly, I like the balance to be weighted in favour of the action and not the family life.
So I rate it like Spy X Family. Good but could be better.

By the Grace of the Gods was reduced in HMV and I was wanting to spend some money.
It is a great feeling when you take a chance and it works out and the S2 is already released.
I would happily watch more seasons.

Ubel Blart ep1-2

This is an odd confection, it feels like it’s torn between standard shonen fantasy tropes and trying to do something darker, often setting up a situation that looks like it’s heading somewhere gruesome, only to pull back from it at the last minute. It also feels like the whole thing has been written with only the cliff notes guide to Berserk as any point of reference; if this started life as a fanfic, it wouldn’t surprise me. I could live with that if the writing was just a bit sharper - as is, it’s either too dumb or not dumb enough, I’m not sure which. I do like the world design though, the airships are kind of neat.

Did I watch it just to make a Paul Blart reference? Maybe.
