Yaoi and yuri, girls and boys

hey has anyone seen gravitation its a clean yaoi anime isn't it?
to be honest i was expecting girl on boy romance but gravitation was the very first anime to introduce me to yaoi. every time two guys was kissing i was like eww *pretend its two lesbians yuri* but all in all it was a very good anime

Either way, I'm glad that you can so nonchalantly bring up the fact that Gravitation merely introduced you to the concept of male/male relationships, and you have since gone on to hunt down other anime that feature them.

Also, look up the meaning of "yaoi".

Well, everything was going well until page 3 i guess,

Anyway, my 2 penneth is that the thought of 2 women going at it doesn't interest me much, now if those 2 women where on 1 guy, not complaining.... but then again i'm talking about real life, not manga. ;)

Imo knock yourselves out and enjoy whatever, hell i'm the guy who owns battle vixens and battle club manga so i'm not gunna complain especially when they are sat inbetween M.A.R and .Hack// lol

As for women wishing they had a penis... this is alittle too weird for me to come to terms with, im fine with having gay and lesbian friends, but if any of them had a sex xhange it'd be too much y'know, it'd be abit freaky. So women fantasising about being one of them in a Yaoi is abit hard to stomach.

Thats not really fair seeing as AF didn't actually create this thread. He may have kicked it all off with the whole "man love anime thing", but it didn't actually start as a thread.

But real talk I don't know what Yaoi and Yuri mean, unless AF's "man love anime" description is accurate. But then again maybe I'm better off not knowing.

You are confusing sexual orientation with gender.
 
That... is quite a long article. There was one issue which it doesn't address, which is similar to something I was going to raise in reply to ayase's post, which is interesting.

This is a bit of an odd area within all anime and manga I think. I think most fans arent attracked to underage characters, but a lot of popular anime charcters are underage. Sometimes its hard to remember this because of how the characters act. I can remember that Gundam Wing slash was very popular, but the main characters are all supposed to be 14/15 type age.*
 
"Canon" ages are definitely... glossed over, when it comes to Western localizations of certain titles. But I agree that there is a general sense of confusion brought about by character designs as well as character portrayals anyway.
