Where to Buy Anime in the UK (was Anime Online Retailers)

Re: Anime Online Retailers

Someone remind me of the other site that used to be like that... their name was three alliterative words, very high prices but they got you the stuff tomorrow pretty much without fail and always got stock in very quickly.

Re: Anime Online Retailers

It's not alliterative, but there used to be DC-DVD who sold import discs in the UK. I got my first R1 set from them, Lain with the blue slipcover.

DC-DVD went the way of the dodo a while ago.

Re: Anime Online Retailers

Hmm, no, it was three distinct words. Like "Reddingtons Rare Records", but obviously not that.

Re: Anime Online Retailers

I have a couple of questions about Play-Asia.

Can you use your login details from Play UK to access Play-Asia or are they completely different companies?

What are general shipping charges like (in this case thinking of getting the Tharja statue from them) & are they quick to dispatch items?

Re: Anime Online Retailers

They are completely different companies. The shipping charges and turnaround speeds are good (you can pick your shipping method on most items) but you will almost certainly be hit by customs with them so please factor that into your budget.

Re: Anime Online Retailers

What's the fastest between order and shipping confirmation?

I just placed an order for a couple of things at UP1USA...

I got the e-mail confirming that my order had been placed at 14:50...
I got the e-mail telling me the order had been processed and the items shipped at 15:07!

17 minutes! It takes me longer to buy something in a shop!

Re: Anime Online Retailers

Hi!
Has anybody got coupon code for Zavvi which he/she can give it to me? I am planning to make a big order soon, but as usual, Zavvi does not send me coupon code, like in the past :(

Sainsbury’s will continue to sell DVDs, CDs, books, games and games consoles for sale in more than 1,000 of our stores. Store Locator.

Can anyone suggest the best place to pre-order the Kill La Kill OST CD?

Is it going to be somewhere like Play Asia or Amazon Japan?
CD Japan. It's listed at £17.65, so it'll probably be around £20 shipped (SAL) and take 1-2 weeks to arrive.
If you search around when inputting your address there is an option to have it sent as a gift to avoid customs. I did that with my Senjougahara and Misaka Nendoroids.

Re: Anime Online Retailers

Yesasia has it listed for just over £19 with free delivery, but it'll most likely take at least three weeks to arrive since my last order from there took at least that long to turn up, however you won't have to deal with any customs charges since they don't declare the correct amount (and if it did get caught they'll refund the costs, but only in store credit).

Thanks both of you for those suggestions.
