What manga are you reading now?

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Light Novel) - Chapters 4 & 5

Looks like each chapter covers an episode in the anime, interesting.

Bloody Monday season 2

Amazing, manga, a shame the 2nd (and 3rd) seasons never got picked up

And also NGE - Shinji Ikari Raising Project, upto volume 7

Just finished the first volume of Gundam Origin. What a lovely piece of work - the hardcover and the glossy pages. Well worth the price. And it smells lovely too *sniffs pages*

Adore this kind of old school space opera stuff.

Hi Guys, I'm pondering breaking into Manga. I'm tempted by the "Alice in the country of...." stuff but I wouldnt even know where to start. UP has 3 county of heart omnibus volumes but then country of hearts stories like ones about the hatter and the labyrinth so now I'm all confused about what the difference is please?

Would anyone be able to tell me where I can find a list of the order stuff has been released in and what not so I could know where to start in possible purchases please?

Bloody hell (excuse my language) the Alice series is all over the place. First of all, it's based on a Visual Novel so a lot of the manga released are pretty much alternate versions of the story I believe.

Starting point is Alice in the Country of Hearts.

All except Country of Hearts and My Fanatic Rabbit are released by Seven Seas (the other two are from Yen Press).

The rest are alternate versions of the plot (different paths to the story like a Visual Novel) - Titles in original language are yet to be translated:
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Clover: Bloody Twins
Clover no Kuni no Alice ~Futago no Koibito~
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Clover: Cheshire Cat Waltz Vol. 1-7
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Clover: Ace of Hearts
Alice in the Country of Clover: Knight's Knowledge Vol. 1-3
-----------------------
Clover no Kuni no Alice ~Kuroi Tokage to Nigai Aji~
Clover no Kuni no Alice ~Tokage no Hosakan~
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Clover: Nightmare

Alice in the Country of Joker: Circus and Liar's Game Vol. 1-6

Alice in the Country of Joker: The Nightmare Trilogy Vol. 1 - Dream Before Dawn ~ Continuation/Alternate version to both Circus and Liar's Game and Nightmare
Joker no Kuni no Alice ~Mahiru ni Miru Yume~
Joker no Kuni no Alice ~Mayonaka ni Ochiru Yume~
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Hearts: My Fanatic Rabbit Vol. 1-2
Alice in the Country of Clover: March Hare
Clover no Kuni no Alice ~Sangatsu Usagi no Kakumei~
-----------------------
Clover no Kuni no Alice ~Shiro Usagi to Tokeijikake no Wana~
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Hearts: The Mad Hatter's Late Night Tea Party Vol. 1-2
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Hearts: Love Labyrinth of Thorns
Alice in the Country of Hearts: The Clockmaker's Story
-----------------------
Crimson Empire: Circumstances to Serve a Noble Vol. 1-3
Alice Love Fables: Toy Box
Renai Otogibanashi ~Chocolate Dragée~
Renai Otogibanashi ~Happy Assort~
-----------------------
Alice in the Country of Diamonds: Black or Sweets ~ Light Novel
Alice in the Country of Diamonds: Bet On My Heart ~ Light Novel

This is hurting my brain, there's still more being released in English though. In case you're wondering I couldn't find a list so I just compiled what I found via MAL.

Wow, I've seen them multiply on the shelves of my local Waterstones, I'd assumed they were sequels or side stories rather than alternate stories, lucky now that I didn't dip into the series when Yen rescued the original Tokyopop volumes, I'd have a mountain of volumes to buy. (Dance in the Vampire bund sure expanded quick though, they actually have guides in the back of recent volumes as to what goes where)

Read Arpeggio of Blue Steel Vol 1 a few days ago, not bad, certainly better art than the cover would have me believe. Story is starting part way in, so I guess we'll get some info from the past as well as the developing story sooner or later. Also to steal a quote from a review I read a while back, 'lasers that part the ocean like Moses was aboard' :D
