What manga are you reading now?

Just polished off volume 1 of Detroit Metal City from Viz. For the handful of people who haven't heard of it, DMC is a comedy about an extremely hardcore death metal band and their real lives when not dressed up in makeup and screaming on stage. The main character is a complete wimp in real life and constantly despairs at how he's ended up in this situation.

I just stopped reading here. It already caught my interest when you said it's about their lives, plus the screen shots I saw make me lol.

Also caught up with Gantz today, it was enjoyable in parts, but I could see it was rushed, in a way I'm underwhelmed and a little dead inside, the manga I picked up on and blitzed in three days during high school has since became a shadow of its former self.

Read the first few chapters of Love Hina last week. Not sure if I will go ahead with the manga yet having watched the anime and enjoyed it. Also read the first volume of Bakuman yesterday. Was a great start to the manga I thought. Defiantely want to read more however it is yet again another incomplete series. It's still being releaseed so I foresee myself loosing more sleep of a manga. lol

You should keep on reading, as the manga is better than the anime.
I'm not one to say the anime is rubbish and only the manga is worth it as some do, but I like the manga a bit more as it actually has an ending a lot more to offer than the anime did in terms of content.

To be honest, that was my only negative I had against the anime, the ending. That settles it then Chaos. I may not read it all immediately but I will continue to read the manga.
^_^

well said

i think the problem with the anime is that it died half way through, i'm not sure how, but most people suspect financial difficulties

the manga is a lot more surreal as well 8)

I've decided to carry on reading Love Hina but I've also made a start on Bakuman. Very Genshiken like manga. Only a few chapters in but loving it so far. Story follows two students who decide to write and draw the best manga ever made. There is more to it than that but you'd have to read it yourself. =P

Re-reading the first ten volumes of Naoki Urusawa's Monster to decide whether or not I want to buy the rest. I'm enjoying it so far, as I did the first time around, but I recall becoming annoyed and confused at how many characters and plot threads Urusawa was still introducing past the half way point. It didn't help, of course, that I sometimes went weeks between volumes. That's a surefire way to lose track of a complex plot.

I really need to read something other than Hayate no Gotoku, I've just sort of circled back from the end to the start and then back through again on a loop since I picked it up.

Yu-Gi-Oh Duelist 7

I'm re-reading the whole series before I start with R 1. Not like I couldn't recite the story from memory, but whatever...

Gunsmith Cats... is awesome. It's like what I wanted Black Lagoon to be: Girls, guns, action (and some serious car and gun porn) and it doesn't think it needs maid outfits and schoolgirls to make it any more appealing. Kenichi Sonoda's artwork is gorgeous, as always.

Perhaps it's the way he's written in the English translation, but am I the only person who hears Ray Liotta speaking Bean Bandit's lines?

No, just a nympho loli :D

You should watch the anime soon. It's great, especially if you're familiar with the manga.

Primarily been keeping up to date with the weekly chapters but also:

Soul Eater 66 - Not a bad chapter, and i can see more cogs turning in this chapter, want to see what happens next too. Tis a shame the anime had a closed ending, after this got so far they could have carried it on with OVA's and such =/

FMA chapter 100 - i now officially hate the manga =( How dare they do that, bah humbug.

Seventeen is loli? I guess the story is set in America... the age of consent is about what, thirty, there? ;)
