What Games Are You Playing?

Playing Sekiro : Shadows die twice and it's soooo hard! 😂 Having some big trouble with some of the bosses. Just beat Lady Butterfly but the headless are wrecking me 😂

Can't believe the 180 between Dead Rising 1 and 2. I absolutely adored the first game and even with the more annoying sections, I had non stop fun. Dead Rising 2 might just be one of the most obnoxious wastes of time I've ever played, I genuinely hate everything about it so far.

Chuck is unbelievably dull and has no charm at all like Frank did, the hotel is such a boring map compared to the Mall imo, the psycopaths are unbelievably bulls**t and I've actually came close to just turning it off and not playing it again.

Oh and the survivors may have brains now but they're so easy to escort now that I'm more worried about the the zombies grabbing me than I am them.

I managed to do that without much trouble so i would say that it isn't that bad. Back in the day i just printed out a guide and followed the schedule laid on it. Survival achievements were the only ones that i didn't even try to do because it wouldn't have been good for Xbox 360 to ran as long as doing those required. Doing survival also sounded really tedious.

I didn't like the second game either. It just feel's like the spark that the first one had was gone. There wasn't even funny/cool super weapons like in the first game.

Completed Game #2 | GOD EATER Resurrection (PS4)

A couple months ago I ran a Twitter poll for folks to choose what game I should play next, and the order ended up being Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, Tales of Xillia 2, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization and GOD EATER Resurrection. However, because these games were rather lengthy I decided to focus on shorter games before going back to starting GOD EATER.

And here we are, after 57 hours of playtime, I finally finished GOD EATER Resurrection. This is a remake of GOD EATER Burst, which was an updated version of GOD EATER - both of which were released on the PSP, and adds a number of additions including tweaks and more ways to fight the Aragami monsters.

This is an action RPG esque game where you go on a mission to defeat one or many Aragami and in return you earn materials to upgrade your gear. Your gear includes your main GOD EATER weapon (a sword, hammer or giant block of sorts), a gun (sniper, shotgun or meteor type), and shield as well as additional upgrade slots you can use and your abilities from Abandoned God Arcs that can be slotted onto your gear. The amount of customisation available is really cool, though it can be very overwhelming especially when you get into the bullets part which you can actually create how you want your guns to shoot them and it's nuts.

Many people online have made recipes of simple to over-the-top bullets and it's incredible. Granted all of these stuff depends on how far you progress in the story and the gear you own. I should mention that the bullets are split into four elemental types (Blaze i.e. Fire, Frost i.e. Ice, Spark i.e. Thunder, and Divine) so you want to have each one setup and ready as well as at least two weapons before going out to fight Aragami because there can be enemies where they have protection against an element.

Combat against Aragami is also interesting. While GOD EATER has been said by many to be a Monster Hunter clone, GOD EATER forces you to make use of both the sword and gun tactic. Your gun's ammo is based on OP and when you have more than enough ready, the amount of damage the gun can do to Aragami is super helpful, but again it depends on your gear and bullet setup.

You see, my biggest gripe with GOD EATER is how you advance your gear. The idea isn't that bad as you essentially need to acquire the right materials to upgrade them, but the issue comes down to the fact that many materials and upgrade opportunities are locked behind later Ranks, which is not entirely fair because it means you could potentially be stuck in a situation where you can't pass a story mission if you don't have the correct setup. And from that, the only solution would be to grind for hours until you have the correct gear. I don't like this tactic because it ruins the pace of the game and it basically forces you to waste many hours to progress.

My experience with GOD EATER basically got worse as it went along due to the difficulty spikes closer to the end game. Granted it is a challenge and can be very rewarding to beat them, but in a lot of cases I had failed tons due to my gear not being upgraded at its best because those materials are locked to levels that are after the one I was struggling to beat. There's also the fact that you can't retry a mission during combat so if you want to ensure your items are kept as it was, you'll need to leave the game and re-load it. That being said, the Endurance system allows you to recover if you lose your HP as long as your teammates can get you back up to your feet before the timer ends (or else you lose more endurance which can reduce your chances of recovering during combat).

That being said, do I think this game is bad? No because there's a lot of good things that are in this. The music is really good, the cast of characters are pretty great and its English dub fits really well, the main story is very interesting though the Resurrection storyline is very filler-esque, and the character models look great. In fact the Aragami monster designs also look great as well.

Overall, GOD EATER Resurrection is an okay game with a pretty challenging setup of enemies during its latter half. It's hard to recommend this game to be honest, though I have heard GOD EATER 2: Rage Burst is pretty much similar.

GOD EATER Resurrection is available to own digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC. If you buy a physical copy of GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst, it will include a free digital download code for the game (though I don't know if the code expired or not).

Well done then 😃 Would be kinda fun to go back and try it. I remember that I really liked the lightsaber and the mega man arm 😂 Made it a lot easier!
I actually managed to get that but it took a lot of replaying and resetting the day!
Cool 😃 It must've been pretty hard though 😂 It gets a bit tedious at certain parts when you have to rush and a survivor dies 😅

I bought Valkyria Chronicles 4 back when it first came out, got halfway through, and then one of the boss battles annoyed me so much that I gave up on it. Tactical positioning is key to survival in this series, but suddenly it throws in a couple of bosses who can run all over the map and kill anyone like Action Points ain't no thang, turning tactics into pot luck. Add to that a bunch of falling bombs that you have to shoot before they hit your ship, and you have a recipe for one annoying mission. Anyway, I kept going back to it every once in a while, finally beat that stupid mission, and now I'm making decent progress. I'm glad I persevered, since the characters improve as the story goes along too. Raz is still a douche, but he was flat-out intolerable at the beginning.

The original game is still the best though, especially for characters and story. It also happens to have one of the best opening movies ever.

The second game on the PSP was a step backwards due to the weaker hardware requiring the maps to be split up into tiny pieces, the removal of the sniper class, and the introduction of a dull military academy setting that felt like something out of the kind of anime I'd drop after three episodes. The fourth game is a real return to form, all things considered.

Finished Dead Rising 2 and got Ending S, feck jump scares to hell and back.

I had fun in the end but it wasn't as good as the original game was.

Started Dead Rising 3 and I already can't stand Nick compared to Frank or Chuck. The timer also has me confused since I can't see it on the fly anymore.

I've almost got 428: Shibuya Scramble finished.

It's been a really great experience, but I've got no idea how anyone could play it without a guide! There's so much bouncing between characters and trial and error involved, it would be super difficult to see everything.

The main story was really really good. Lots of funny moments (especially some of the photos), a few sad bits, exciting stuff - it's a great tale!

Post-game content is a bit more hit and miss. I've found some of it overly depressing and some just plain boring - but some of it has been excellent.

Overall, it's a really really good game. It goes on sale quite often, so I think it's well worth checking out - it's the kind of thing a lot of people here would really be into.

Time to watch the anime prequel!

Time to watch the anime prequel!
I've had the DVD sitting around for years (I got it as a random MVM DOTW purchase ages ago) and I had absolutely no idea it was connected to a game until very recently!

I was kind of looking forward to watching it - but it seems like it's more connected to the part of the post-game content that bored me so much, I left it running on autoplay while I went off to do something else...so it's fallen way way down my "to watch" list now 😅

Currently playing 4 different titles at once.
Ghost of Tsushima been at this one for a good while, but now just finished Act 2(collected everything to this point) and now ontowhat I think is the final Act? So will get that done soon
Dragon Quest XI S - Another I started last year but didn't get done. Again I think there is three acts to it and I'm nearly at the end of Act 2. Such a solid JRPG and my first proper dive into the Dragon Quest RPGs(i played Dragon Quest Builders 1 and 2 which I adored as well).
Guacamelee 2 - Been playing this on stream as a closer when I do Hades or Katana Zero runs, but boy is it great. It feels like it solidifies what the first game did well and built on it even further. I'd say I'm about 55%ish done so far.
The Messenger - Played this on stream today and boy is this one hell of a side-scroller. I'm past the twist now and really stuck into the final part of the game, so i'll get this finished when i stream on Thursday. But they really hit everything perfectly with this one, the best balance of difficulty when and where you needed it.

I'll say this in the nicest words as I can but oh my god, Dead Rising 3 is ******* putrid!

The colour from the previous games is entirely gone so the map is dull, lifeless and boring to explore. The game is now open world but there's roadblocks every ******* where so the new vehicle mechanic is already butchered since you can't go anywhere half the time. Survivors are insanely simplified and just run away after you help them whereas ones earned from the side quests were also near a safe zone anyway so they're basically already safe.

I can't stand how open the game is since every single area looks exactly the same with no interesting areas to diversify where you are going. Every area in the prior games didn't all look the same like this game does.

I could rant for longer but just...ugh!

Dead Rising 2 had a bad start but while I did come to enjoy it, I have no plans to get back to this garbage.

Oh and the timer is butchered as well since you can't just look at your watch anymore, you need to go to the menu so now the time doesn't even tick down like it's supposed too.

I started playing One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows

The reason nobody knows the hero is that no one can see their name because the font size is tiny and I can't read it and I've wasted £20 on this game and I wish Saitama would come and punch me so I can forget I ever even played it 🙃
