I just got true lies today it got released today here in the UK plus I've got the crow and china o'brien 1&2 + fist of legend on pre order out in may and project a parts 1&2 in July us exclusive for some reason there's not a uk release of project a 1&2.aliens is on pre order not out till the end of the month.

True lies does not look that bad in 4k.

I haven't seen Suzume yet, but I've always been a sucker for Shinkai's work. I haven't read any reviews for it either, so I'm guessing you think it's a slight drop in quality from his previous films?

I watch Boruto, so my taste is definitely questionable at the best of times 😂 when they're BOGOF, they're hard to resist! I'm looking forward to trying all of them out though - Durarara!! I've already seen and it was more of a nostalgia purchase for me.

I really enjoyed Suzume - as far as Shinkai's works go, Your Name is my GOAT movie, whether live action or animated, and I rank Suzume just a bit behind Your Name, and just ahead of Garden of Words. Weathering With You I did not care for that much, I think I even prefer Agartha (Children Who Chase Lost Voices) over WWY.

Suzume pays homage to the 9.0 Great Tohoku Earthquake and resulting Tsunami that hit Japan back on March 11, 2011, killing 20,000 people and severely damaging the Fukushima nuclear plant. The movie starts out showing a young girl wandering through some of the devastation left behind by the tsunami, and later refers to the date 3/11 in the girl's diary.

The thing with Suzume is that it is deeply steeped in Shinto religious beliefs and lore, so to better understand it, after you see the movie it is good to check out some of the YouTube videos explaining all of what is seen in the movie. Cinema Tokyo has posted 3 explanation videos that really go into a lot of interesting detail.
