I'll have to find out by watching ;-) This was too good of a deal to pass up. I don't care about (battle)shonen anime, but I have a soft spot for mecha anime. I liked Gundam Wing as a teenager, but I've never dared to go all in on the Gundam series.
This batch consists of two packages that arrived last week but since I've been pre-occupied by work I haven't been able to showcase them until today.
Arrived last Friday is NieA_7 (NieA Under Seven) from MVM Entertainment via their collector's edition Blu-ray release. This is an interesting one as this is the first one I believe MVM have picked up that uses the Discotek Media artwork and discs. It's also good timing considering the US license has now expired and will go out of print any moment now.
A third-party seller on Amazon has stock available for a surprisingly low price so I decided to go for it now whilst it was on offer. You can view more photos and specs on my blog.
Next we have our Eureka Entertainment January Bundle which arrived early last Saturday. This consists of two Hong Kong films, a bonus documentary film and two Japanese films across three releases.
The first film is Wong Jing's 1993 Hong Kong film Kung Fu Cult Master (倚天屠龍記之魔教教主) which continues the Jet Li line-up that's had a resurgence over the past year. The second is Hideo Gosha's 1966-67 films Samurai Wolf I & II (牙狼之介 / 牙狼之介 地獄斬り), a double film pack for the Masters of Cinema range. And the third is Feng Huang's 1973 Hong Kong film When Taekwondo Strikes (跆拳震九州), the second Eureka release featuring Angela Mao which seems to be in its own spine line-up.
Also included on the When Taekwondo Strikes release is a 1990 documentary film called The Best of the Martial Arts Films by Sandra Weintraub which was included on the North American release for Righting Wrongs.
Not the best of picture (stupid glare from a lamp), but a nice haul non the less, from CR and Sentai via Stackry, had to wait till CR send Overman King Gainer to get this all shipped:
I made an offer for some anime earlier in the week but didn't win.
Luckily I noticed this had been released in region B. The region logo is a bit small.
Anyway, the live action version of the greatest anime series of all time.
