What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I think I'll wait until a local option is available then. The base price in America for the 16gb model is $199 whilst the 500gb model is $299. Doesn't make much sense to buy the base model for £280 when the US price is ~£127.
I'm also reading that the 16gb doesn't even have a SATA port so you can't install an internal hard drive, so it's external solutions only. I definitely want to hear how it performs though. I was interested ages ago in building a HTPC, but this seems like a solid alternative.

You may be able to find it cheaper if you look around, Amazon was just the first place I thought to look. You could also look into just importing one, it would probably be a lot cheaper than £280.

Just want to say a massive thanks to Gemsy, Sinthetic and ilmaestro for sharing pictures of their glorious Japanese sets. They look amazing. I always love Sins photography skills too :D

Y'all have inspired me to post my pickups for the month, although my picture taking does not quite exhibit the same level of effort:

And here I am not even realising you import Japanese volumes. Care to show all of them in the Collection thread? Pretty please..
I would also be interested in seeing this...

Me too.

Heh, that is basically all I buy these days. My first JP series was KimiNozo more than ten years ago, and my appreciation for them has only grown (or, should I say, my frustration with US releases reached the point where I didn't think that buying them satisfied my desire to support the shows I enjoy the most).

I'll see what I can do with pics, I've posted some fairly moderate quality ones before, and as anyone who has seen them could tell you my efforts in curating my collection (or... anything) do not really match up some of the glorious shots people have added to the collection thread.

Do you have a good knowledge of Japanese or do you sync up subs to the shows you watch? I'd honestly import more Japanese BD releases but the lack of subs is always the reason why I ultimately don't.
The only non subbed JP BD I currently own is the Index Movie (the Psycho-Pass movie will probably join it), and even then I bought it because I never thought it would get released in the west and I knew it was getting easy-to-sync-up fansubs.

To use IncendiaryLemon words, "Colour me very jealous" :D

Don't know if there are any decent Japanese courses in Belgium, but maybe that's a discussion for another thread

I have got the Shield from Amazon: Shield Android TV

Final price was (including shipping+27% Hungarian tax) 185 GBP.

I am still testing 10 bit 1080p mkv. MX Player played all files smoothly (only saw some really minor stutter which did not kill the experience and may even occur on PC), however there is no 5.1 audio output.

I have tried Kodi and I was able to set 5.1 output, however the High 10@5.0 coded Kabukimonogatari played smoothly, but High 10@5.1 and 5.2 files stuttered really badly with Kodi software decoding (with HW decoding there are smooth but the video is corrupted).

ps.: Was playing around and I was able to make Kodi do 5.1 passthrough and produce enjoyable playback speed for High 10 @ 5.1-5.2 mkv files too. I was also able to remove the judder effect by setting Kodi to change the TV refresh rate to 24 hz. Even Knights of Sidonia with High 10 @ 5.2 with 1080p DTS-M 5.1 audio is playing as good on most desktop PC-s.

So far this machine seems to be pretty nice for 10 bit 1080p playback using Kodi.

edit: I just watched Tokyou Ghoul ep1 which is 1080p High 10 @ 5.1 coded and it was 99% smooth as watching on PC. There were only 2 really short scenes were I saw some small stutter and both scenes had close up of trees with many branches. All other scenes were smooth. Just in case I also tested Knights of Sidonia (1080p High 10 @ 5.2) with episode 2 when the Gauna explodes (there are a lot of particle effects there) and that was smooth too. So doN't know why tree branches caused stutter in Tokyo Ghoul :D

First of many (JoJo's), I think.

At first I thought it was a Birthday card (B-Day this Sunday) and it turns out to be this:

I got it later than Dannielle and yet I'm closer to No.1. Must be based on who backed first I guess.

You're in luck, the Limited Edition Part 1 for Eureka Seven Blu-ray sold out about a week or two ago.

I want to get a PS4 but I would like to build up my PS3 collection a little bit more before doing so.

Picked up the Eureka Seven LE from amazon.ca who still have some in stock. Only problem with .ca is you will get stung by import and can't pay at checkout...

The PS4 has just passed the tipping point for me. I enjoyed Skyrim so thought I'd give the online version a go and (rather embarrassingly) also picked up skylanders trap team dark edition starter from Amazon.it for £33... (The annoyances of being OCD about collecting things). Plus with FFXV, KH3, Zestiria, and Star Ocean 5 on the table there's a lot to keep me interested in it for a long while to come.

Nice pick-ups msgeek, and you're indeed correct about amazon.ca and import duties, but on the other hand, they're fast because they always use DHL.

Also received two FUNimation releases today and one NIS America. And no, the one i thought i'd receive on Monday isn't among them. Actually the tracking stating i would receive something on Monday actually meant that it would arrive at the Ebay international shipping hub in Erlanger, Kentucky :) All i will say about that one, for now, is that it's also a FUNimation LE that went OOP fast

Arakawa Under the Bridge is a bit of a funny one, as i bid on it on Ebay but totally forgot about it, also because my bid wasn't all that high. So to my surprise i actually won it, and only set me back 40$ without shipping and customs cost. All in all i'm pleased with this one.
