What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I received the final title from my May pre-order at Crunchyroll US. The slipcover has a matte finish instead of the usual standard glossy finish:

I saw some of the Monster High reboot on Netflix and was surprised at how good it is. Got to love a show that uses a Wilhelm Scream as the school bell. The US release is DVD-only, presumably because Nickelodeon assume young girls don't care about picture quality. But what about middle-aged weirdos like me?!

Tell me about it, they clearly underestimate little girls like us; no multiple language options or subtitles on a lot of discs either. I had to import all my Winx Club DVDs from Italy just so Tatiana Dessi’s deep-voiced and imperious Icy could make me feel funny I could watch it in Italian.

I tried watching new Monster High. It seemed entertaining and much better animated than Gen 1, but what happened to the accents? Draculaura with a generic American accent instead of her squeaky Bela Lugosi voice is like, well, dubbing over Bela Lugosi in Dracula with Keanu Reeves. The same goes for the entirely bizarre decision to make Abbey Indian instead of Russian. Nothing against having Indian characters, obviously, but it seems a bit odd for a cartoon that’s always touted inclusivity to basically erase eastern European identity. If the problem was that the VA’s were putting on those accents rather than them being natural, couldn’t they just have hired Romanian/Russian VAs? They had no problem making Toralei English or Lagoona Latina, which makes me think the decision was altogether more sinister based on current geopolitics. The Russians love their children too, Mattel.
 
These were both just under a tenner each on TheGameCollection. I know MvCI isn't supposed to be the best in the series but since Capcom announced the MvC Collection I've been wanting to check out the series as I never have. The DLC is on sale atm as well which helps.

EDIT: I also noticed UMvC3 was on sale on the PSN store as well so decided to also get that. There is a physical release on PS4 which released in the U.S. but it's quite pricey these days as I think it was a limited print run, would be nice to have eventually though.

FF8 I already have on Switch as it's part of the twin-pack with FF7 but I wanted it on PS4 as well for collection purposes and is a neat little oddity that this got a standalone physical release on PS4 as well.
