What did you BUY today?

I bought a second figure cabinet to store my Japanese figures in, as the first one I purchased is already completely full! This one is also a metal cabinet but of a different color and style than my first cabinet, and is a lot taller, 63 inches high rather than 42". The cabinet has 4 shelves like my current cabinet, but with the extra height two of the shelves can be adjusted to 18" height to fit upright 1/4 scale figures that usually stand about 18" tall, and the cabinet comes fully wired with LED strip lighting for mounting under all the shelves. It only has glass in the front doors, so there is less window area to cover for discrete storage of my 18+ figures. It will take about 10 days to arrive.

I think the only thing I can say is that I made a financial decision and idk if it was a good or bad one but I'll find out in a few weeks I suppose.

Since I purchased the second figure cabinet above, I splurged a bit to get one more figure for my collection that I had been wanting for the past two years in a very bad way, but I waited too long to purchase it at a normal price. So, I had no choice but to grab one from the secondary market at an inflated price. Oh well, win some, lose some. US tariffs start this Friday May 2nd, so I may possibly get hit with an extra fee shipping from Japan.

I gess being safe online doesn’t mater too you .just hand over all your personal details to strangers on online then get back too us.

So your post was entirely serious and literal, got it. In which case I'll just point out that I and many others on this forum have indeed shared our addresses with one another in order to buy/sell/trade/gift things over in the marketplace section of the forum. The mods do not appear to have any problems with people doing that, nor has anything negative ever come of it from my experience. I'll also point out that all the relevant authorities such as the police, council, tax man, credit agencies etc. already know your name and where you live, and I'd be a lot more concerned about them than someone offering to send me merch on an anime forum, but enjoy your paranoia.

paranoia if you say so 🤣

Anime UK News is not responsible for any deal you agree here, so make sure you trust the buyer or seller before hooking anything up. Always remember that while we are happy help; we can't do anything about your credit card, paypal account or damaged goods.

At least with long term posters there is a certain assurance that they're not going to dick you around because the mods can ban them if they do. But I appreciate your point, and you're allowed to not want to hand over those details to others as you're right there is some potential risk involved. I have bought and sold anime and manga on here (only giving or receiving address details privately in PMs not publically in forum posts) and never had any trouble, and FWIW I would also add that @RonJB has been posting here a long time so I would doubt they are untrustworthy. @ayase I want to apologise for not voicing my objections to you directly (publically I mean, in this thread, not via DMs) about this issue instead of indirectly - I can be very conflict avoidant to an unhealthy degree and it is something I want to work on.

Not a problem. Water under the bridge, please do not be concerned about it. A post is a post, for all it's worth, while I may disagree with others and they with me regarding certain things we post, people are different and I hold no grudges. The mods appear to have made their decision, which is their right (possibly these posts will go the same way) but I appreciate your public gesture and wanted to respond in kind.

Thank you for resolving the conflict peacefully. I am willing to discuss it further in DMs as needed but I am 100% satisfied that nobody involved was actually trying to scam anyone, so I'd rather we kept future posts here to people's loot and loot-envy.

While I didn't buy any, This was the first time I've seen used panty vending machines (at Nakano Broadway, which was jammed with shoppers with American accents looking for non-existent bargains). Got me wondering, is Y500 the right price? How much do new panties cost? I'm guessing it's gotta be more than £2.50. Are they made of paper or have they been sitting in the machine for decades? And you though Covid was bad! 1000010933.jpg

Have you been to a Mandarake yet?

I ordered two more in-stock cast off figures today from US retailers for my collection - an Elf Girl and a Bunny Girl. I've been ordering as many in-stock figures domestically as I can before international tariffs kick-in tomorrow, because with the dreaded increase in figure prices, the in-stock figures with no tariff charges will be selling out much quicker.

Also, I had ordered a Busty Gamer Girl Shiro figure from a Japanese seller on Ebay earlier this week, and fortunately it arrived in Anchorage Alaska at 12:30 am Friday and then Newark New Jersey later in the day, so it should be ok through customs without a tarrif hit, arriving in the US the day before the Tariffs kick-in. Phew! 😅

Nakano Broadway is virtually all Mandarake. The Mandarake in Nagoya is where I picked up Shion and Rimaru slime form. Today I braved the Golden Week weekend crowds in Akihabara and Asakusa. Picked up some more CDs for a low price (the shop sells them as "junk" and doesn't guarantee they will work, but they look fine to me. Anyone want them once I've got home and digitised them, let me know. Say £1 each + postage.
