30 wooden coat/clothes hangers and 100 (so 50 pairs) of self-adhesive rubber grips from Amazon, for hanging my heavier dresses and coats (I also got two white bras, a pack of bra extenders, and two 5 packs (so 10 pairs) of lycra and lace black full brief pants from Marks and Spencers - the photos I would have posted from their website is just the items themselves they're not on a model, but I feel a bit weird about posting that here so I won't lol)

Thankyou, and you are indeed correct that some people are ignorant of the brilliance of lolita fashion! Wish I could have seen the gothic lolita woman I bet she looked amazing!

The light purple dress from Shein arrived and it's a bit rubbish so I'll be sending it back sadly, my insoles arrived and the shoes are sooo much comfier with them in (the size UK 8 "men's" ones from that brand at least are an EU 42 rather than an EU 41, which is great cuz I have EU 42 size feet lol), I also made a bit of monies from an Ebay sale so I bought this lovely glitter bodycon dress and a red velvet romper with a stars motif from Cider

The zine is called Vampires Vestige digital zine if you are interested. There is a print edition with extra goodies but it is from America so the postage cost is high. So I went with the digital version instead.

@Shadow Cat great find! I was also looking at My Hero Academia figures recently and I thinking about pre-ordering the Mt Lady 1/90 scale figure. But I have to be careful with figures because I currently don’t have a way to display them.

Ah fairs! I wasn't offended or anything, just wasn't sure how salacious forumites here are allowed to be in this context XP

Lesson learned for next time perhaps (as in maybe give a thumbs up next time?) Living in Brighton I do see people wearing pretty impressive outfits fairly frequently but lolita dresses aren't an everyday spotting even here

I might just look into it, I'm still on Volume 1 of the dramatic adaptations of the novels in audiobook format, but it is v enjoyable and I love the 80s feature length OVA and quite enjoyed Bloodlust though my fave Kawajiri work will always be Cyber City Oedo 808!

I bought some anime cels from an IRL shop in London!

Discovered the shop a few weeks ago while strolling through Notting Hill / Kensington area. Lol I'm not rich - I just like coming to London for a big long day of walking for exercise, and I happened to pass through there. Anyway, I saw a shop advertising itself as a Japanese gallery, and I thought it'd be full of traditional pictures and paintings, based on the location in London. And indeed, they do have a lot of that kind of art.

But amazingly, what they also have is an extensive collection of anime cels, posters, and brochures!

They were closed when I first discovered them, so I was happy to get the chance to go back when they were open. Pic from their website:



I recognised a few shows among all of the (many!) cels on offer, including Black Jack, Tenchi Muyo, Detective Conan. I ended up buying five from shows that I didn't immediately recognise, because I just thought they looked gorgeous, and I can imagine them looking fantastic in a frame on my wall. Perhaps some of you recognise them? Each one that I bought was either £10 or £20, though they definitely had some more expensive ones there.

Pay them a visit if you're able to get there. You have to knock to enter, but they seem very happy for you to just go in for a browse.

I knew that HMV were selling Tokyo Godfathers for £5.99 - but I was very happy to find out at the till that the sale price had a further 20% off. Total pice: £4.79.

I'm very happy, though I also wonder how anyone in the chain is making money from that sale. Obviously it benefits me personally, but I do also want the anime industry to survive! For me, a big reason for buying physical media is to support the industry.

Still, if everyone in the chain is happy with that price, then I definitely am.
