:P I've already got a Tau Battlesuit to resemble the First Gundam (well best as possible without doing any major conversion work) if we're going to go down this route then i'll be Team G Gundam :P complete with Tau pilots :lol: Seriously though a good idea, i was tempted to start getting the battletech miniatures for the same reason (giant robots rule)...can't tell i use Tau can you

That's the idea for my army: Even if the Imperium are the symbollic army for Rightousness (with their 'defend the universe from the alien scum' routine), one simple warped truth can turn a planet to Chaos.
Since they dont value human life compared to their 'god-like' status (huge egos), the Imperium to my army are a damned race filled by greed for power anyways. Fuelled by their hatred, groups as large as admardas flock to one area to join their own purge of the Space Marines, etc. (So it's full of whole believers of the dark cause, or hired goons now warped.)

Then again, this is why I love the 40k universe, there is no black and white. The Orks are a force of nature, the Eldar are a race defeated by their own pride, the Humans are weak and prevented from advancing, Chaos is a force of pure corruption born from man's desires (for good or bad)...even Tyranids can't really be said to be evil...I mean, they're just animals, a force of nature.

True with the Orks/Tyranids, but it's like killing of a plague of lotcus - unless you get rid of them, you'll be killed off. Kinda like Starship Troopers and their "Bug problem." So they can be seen as pests rather than intellegent life forms (Even if a greenskin can make a spacehulk, and Hive Tyrants are psykers...)
 
Where do the Necron's fit in with all of this then, the stories in the Codex made them out to be a threat equal to Chaos (Actually if my theroies were correct at the time, the C'tan were to blame for many of Abbadon's crusades) Although Necrons are probably the cloest thing we're going to get to an Undead race in the 40K universe (beside from plague zombies of course, prephaps the coolest thing to come out of the Eye of Terror campaign)

Well this brings back the memorys. Not played this in yeeeears not since the 3rd edition. Was an Eldar man myself with a nice little craftworld army along with an army of harlequins. The old harles mind not these new ones that have come out. Although they don't look to bad. All they seem to do now is collect dusk on a shelf, the ones I have out anyway most are in boxes or in a nice games workshop army holder (Cost about £50!) that I hardly used as I stopped playing not long after getting it. Tempted to get some out an start painting again if I can even do that as I was bad at it even at my best :lol:

Well, I heard from one of my gamer friends that the Necrons could ACTUALLY be the natural enemy of the Lizardmen from Fantasy. Can't remember how but I also heard that one of the C'tan is actually the "Machine God" on Mars that the Techies worship. (The poor guy's really taking a nap, and hasn't noticed what everyone's doing around him. Although no-one really dares going anywhere near the actual C'tan as they fear it too.)

But that's just what I heard. They seem like intelligent/obsessed fans, so they probably know what they're talking about. Not heard about the Abbadon thing though.

Nah, the coolest thing from eye of terror was the Space Wolves. They have a hero called Leif Hemligjaga. People who know me well; will know why I think that is so cool :lol:

I wanna start a Space Wolf army dammit.
 
I had heard about the lizard man thing but that just made me try to work out if the two game world's were connected at all and i got confused :P The abaddon thing was just me reading somewhere that the guy who was writting the codexs at the time was leaving plot hooks everywhere (that's how the C'tan started out a vague mention in the 2nd edition rules) and one of thse links basically said that the golden C'tan led Abaddon to his sword that sparked his black crusades...when you think about it they've been very clever with the main storyline which doesn't seem to change till they do global campaigns
 
The connection between the two universes has been in and out of of the fluff for as long as I can remember. Going back to hints in first editions it seems that Warhammer's world is just a planet in 40k, maybe hidden by warp storms or just lost. This is why we have The Old Ones who advanced the Lizardmen mages, and also advised the Eldar on their wrongdoing before they birthed Slaanesh....there's also hints that Sigmar (the man who united The Empire in Warhammer) MAY have been a Space Marine Primarch, one of the 20 scattered to the warp by the gods of Chaos.

Depending on the mood of GW at the time the links are either stronger or weaker, whatever ;)

So some random Space Marine Primarch just jumped into a warpstorm and ended up on the Fantasy realm and lead his own army... again?! Talk about broadening your CV.
"Yeah, the Marines were easy, as it was mainly just 'Yes, sir/No sir!' from them. When I went to organise the Empire, they had a lot more to deal with: Alcohol, fragile and bikini women, plus they has such vulgar language..." XD

No, if it was a primarch he never voluntarilly ended up there. At the first founding the Emperor created the 20 Primarchs to lead his new legions, but the gods of chaos picked up the children and spread them throughout space...The Emperor knew they were alive, but not where.

But anyway....I think GW's current stance is that the universes aren't linked, it's a bit of a retcon, but it keeps the WHFB players happy.

They are the same time, IIRC they are parallel universes. You used to be able to use some Chaos 40k stuff in fantasy, anyone for a las cannon against a steamtank ?

Like I said, in the first editions of the games it was always suggested that Warhammer's world was just a planet in the 40k universe that, for some reason, was never found by the Imperium, or Tyranids...the normal excuse was that warp storms hid the planet from the rest of the universe...hence only The Old Ones being able to talk to its inhabitants.

The only chaos stuff i remember being allowed to cross over was mainly the demonic range stuff like the juggernaught of khrone...Its probably for the best though that they don't say properly the connection though i do remember hearing about a lizardman vs necron battle for a few years back
