Manga: "this show would be too expensive to release on BD so we won't"
Kaze: "This show would be too expensive to release properly on BD but we'll drop the quality, strip the extras and release it anyway".

Honestly I was considering buying Viz's release of T&B The Beginning because we hadn't heard anything for Anime Limited since it was pushed back.
I'm glad I waited as it looks bootiful. Shame it's apparently just a recap with a crappy new villain rather than new content like The Rising.

What size is this going to be though? It looks BD sized (Which I'd much prefer as I don't display anything DVD sized and I own Viz's release of the TV series anyway), but Khazi's sets for the series were DVD size.

It's a recap, but it does feature some really great new scenes that really help build the characters a lot more. A brilliant movie tbh.

I do hope Anime Limited work on making it match with Kazé's DVDs/BDs.

Totally forgot this was coming out. As it's a recap movie I won't buy it day 1, maybe sometime in the future once it's cheap. I'm definitely much more interested in The Rising whenever that gets released.

Well I'd much prefer Anime limited stick to uniformity with their own packaging and its BD size.

I havent watched the show, so hearing this is mostly a recap means it should be fine for me to dive in with this right? Artwork of the cover is fab.

Yup. My older brother saw the movie with me at the screening last year and he loved it. He hadn't seen an anime since Soul Eater, never mind the original series.

Wait, what? All that was changed was the top half of the background being replaced by plain white and the series' logo being made smaller and stuck in a corner.

Honestly, the first one we saw was amazing. I wonder what the reason for the change could have been?

Note the lack of Manga logos on the Persona 4 re-releases. They look better without it too.

Looking at some Manga only covers their logo doesn't particularly stand out, so I'd suspect it's the blockiness that comes from having multiple logos on one cover.

If anything I have to say the Kaze logo that's the problem, that red border, and the fact that the letters always seem to be off centre. Having it on it's own and in the bottom corner helps to mitigate that.

If anything I think I prefer Funimations and Sentais logo, using their name and keeping it subtle.

Nisemonogatari v2 turned up today. Strangely, there's no BBFC logo on the spine. Normally this would be a cause for celebration, but there is one of the spine of v1. Not a huge issue. Maybe not much of an issue at all. But now they look a bit odd sitting next to one another on the shelf, which is annoying since otherwise I like the designs.

I wonder if it was a mistake or whether MVM will be doing the same with future titles. I certainly wouldn't object to the latter.
