Upcoming UK Anime DVD Artwork!

Not a bad mock up. I assume that's a mock up for the art box. If so they need to remove their logo and the bbfc rating from is, keep the art box clean like Funimation. Should put their logo and the bbfc rating on a removable information leaflet.

Agreed, keep logos and such off the box and do a single page like the funimation boxsets. Though I guess they might be running into issues where the BBFC require a certification logo on the spine when its over a certain size.

Not sure if that's the reason. I have The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey extended edition Blu-ray steelbook, the steelbook is a jumbo size one. The jumbo size is about the same width as two standard steelbooks put together and that doesn't has a bbfc logo on the spline.

Couldn't MVM have the certificate rating on the shrink-wrap and perhaps on the bottom of the actual box (with the rest of the technical stuff)? Looking through my collection of UK boxsets, some lack a certificate rating altogether, while others have them really small as stickers.

I wish MVM would ditch the evil triangle and replace it with their text logo. UK distros like their ugly logos, though.

Looks good otherwise, though I'm not sure I'll be getting it since the first episode put me to sleep (I remember characters walking round and round talking about something that didn't interest me).

I won't be getting Fate/Zero because I have the super-expensive version already, but if it helps the monotonous first episode was not representative of the rest of the show (which thankfully manages to be much more interesting). If you can stand giving the second episode a spin on Crunchyroll you might find it more to your liking.

That text logo would look much better!

I have a free CR trial at the moment so I might just do that. I'd like to support the release since it's MVM doing a collector's edition, and for not much more than their regular edition.

I've noticed all the US companies use text logos and their covers tend to look a hell of a lot better. Logos just stick out too much.

Interesting looking at the back of that Fate/Zero BD cover. Wonder if that technical info is accurate about both audio tracks being LPCM? We shall find out. I still can't believe AniplexUSA are using lossy tracks on their releases.

Madman said they will be using the same audio track from the US release, so it'd be surprising if it were actually LPCM.
That doesn't mean it's not viable though. This won't have the amazing 40mbps video like Aniplex's release does, so they've got space to play around with for the audio.

Heh, lately it seems to be give or take with more and more anime releases nowadays. Whether its lack of chapter stops, or lossy audio, or screwed up subtitling, almost every distributor's release has its drawbacks and its advantages. Ah well, all we can do is keep pointing them out whilst making a noise about it I guess.

On topic, I personally think MVM's cover designs are improving a lot. Just need a more elegant solution of displaying the number of discs.

That'd be simple, have the logo only on the back with the technical info. Or just have the wording on the back, 300 minutes on 2 DvD's should cover it in the technical info box.

I can't see any reason why they think people are super obsessed by the number of discs that it has to say it on all sides of the box, providing the info in 1 spot is sufficient.

I like this cover, feels clean (of course the text feels smudged, they fix that near release with the final BBFC logo):

UPDATED: Girls und Panzer now displays the final BBFC logo and description.

I like how they shifted the image on Girls Und Panzer upwards and put the title logo at the bottom, feels cleaner than the sentai version.

Though look at the number of logos!

Do they really need to put a blu ray logo on the front when it will presumably come in a standard Blu-ray box that has a big blue bit of plastic with that logo already on it?

And again with the disc logos, front and side, but nothing on the back in technical info? Clutter where it's not needed and lack of info where there should be info.

And since when did it contain Strong Sexualised images and bloody violence? Could they not have used a better BBFC placeholder?

Nice to see Manga once again using the original logo, like they did with the GT sets. Due to the original logo's blue they changed the background to yellow, which doesn't look bad either.
