Don't you own any scissors?

Heh, I don't see that going very well

I don't mind the banner, though the fact it stops on the spine makes it look very odd.

Surely double play banners could be replaced with stickers like the old triangle of death?

Really there should have just done what Funimation did with their combos: a slipcover with the banner on the top and a normal Blu-ray cover without it. But as usual, Manga don't have the money to do so.

When they're releasing a seperate DVD version like that I really don't see the point of double plays at all. Surely the impetus behind them was to push BD adoption, except the companies releasing them seem to have forgotten that such a tactic is highly unlikely to work if people aren't actually being forced to buy the BD in order to get the DVD.

I know I'm risking a torrent of "But muh extra DVD copy in case I want to watch it in lower quality in another room of my house on one of my many televisions" but if you want a DVD so badly as well, why shouldn't you have to buy it separately? People who buy the DVD don't get a free VHS copy.

Guess they are scared they'll lose sales if they force people to pay for the BD, though having said that it seemed a few DvD and BD releases were equally priced in HMV last time I looked. If they could keep them equally priced they may find people opt for the combo as they can watch DvD now and will have the BD available later when they finally upgrade.

The extra DvD argument is kinda niche tbh, yes I've heard people say it's lucky they had the DvD available as backup as their club didn't have BD etc but by and large you buy for the BD and will watch the BD.

Exactly! I guess it's a good thing they don't seem to cost much more then the blu ray or dvd would by it's self.

I saw an advert years ago that marketed these combos as having the blu ray for home and the dvd for the portable player in the car, but seriously, do they want us to buy those now too?!!

I suppose if a friend only has a dvd player you can still lend it to them though.

This is just showing up as the thumbnail on Amazon right now, rather than on the listing page but .. I believe this might be the new art work? or the BD art work if its coming in a slip case?

Found a bigger version, Danielle it's probably the new artwork (It's also the same artwork used for the Aniplex LE Blu-ray box cover):

And a bigger version for Fate/SN film:

I don't recall this being shown before either:

On a different note, I feel like there should be a US artwork thread for those who like importing.

Hmm, sounds like a good idea, would make a certain amount of sense for comparisons too

So, your suggestion is we don't make any threads on here that might be duplicates of threads on other forums? Have you thought that through thoroughly?

Despite this being an Uk communitie, i would not see a problem with an r1 cover thread to be honest. In fact, it would mean more posts and more stuff to comment, which i think its the basic thing of a forum.

The image used in that cover is the inside cover of the US version so you can always turn it around plus it has episodes list and number too so u losing nothing.

Nice, I actually have the US version sitting on my to watch pile :)

Yes that's a better cover than the US version, but will that be the only thing that is better about it?

That's what I'd be concerned about, Funimation generally don't have any technical type errors and nor any un-reasonable locks on features.

Plus thinking on it, Roberta's OAV should probably have her on the cover
