There's a lack of characters on the spines of new Manga titles which aren't a certain shonen show/repackage/Kaze release.
Has nobody pointed out that Blue Exorcist is a combo pack yet? It looks okay, but personally I'll probably be getting Aniplex's release since it looks amazing.
FSN:UBW cover is nice, and I'm glad they used that cover instead of the one Sentai used.
I'm a bit confused about Hellsing though, are they doing an artbox for it or what? What's pictured is the artbox Funi bundled with v5-8 but with the usual crap on it.
I don't like the Last Exile cover just because there's so much blank space where they've downsized Funi's Artbox image. I'm also not particually fond of the Is This A Zombie? cover (because it looks awful) and the Clannad After Story one just because I prefer Sentai's cover with Nagisa on it.

Is having a character vital? or was that a general observation?

Quite a few nice covers, direct copies on some from the US which is smart tbh.

Gotta say of all of them the Naruto ones stand out as being boring, might be the art style doesn't appeal to my eye

The Clannad ones look nice. I didn't get the DVDs the first time round, so I might pick these up.
Interesting that Blue Exorcist is a combi-pack - I thought it was going to be Blu-ray only, with the DVDs being reprinted? I guess the powers that be decided that shoving them into a combi-pack was cheaper?

The only one I don't like is Nura, but I wasn't planning on buying it anyway. Looks way too crowded.

Both. An observation since it's something they have done with most of their releases lately, and now they appear to be going to back to their old style spines, - Black Spine with Text, - and it's vital to me at least. The US releases look nicer on my shelf since they have a character on the spine and slimmer BD cases. Manga's older spines just look meh in comparison.
The only Manga titles I actually have on my main shelf are Madoka, Redline and Blood C along with the Eva movies. The rest are all kept separately.

Really liking the Unlimited Blade works cover, hope they stick to it.

Can't help but feel it's a confusing situation.

ANN had it announced on the 21st May that it would be a Combo.

They way I first read the news it sounded like a combo. Later more detailed reports made it sound like a separate complete collection re-release for the DVDs.
A combo did make more sense.

That Lupin III artwork is frankly, terrible - especially when compared with the classy American one. I highly doubt that's final though, as the ugly Fujiko logo isn't even fully in English.

Yeah, it is god awful and needs to be changed ASAP. Manga probably designed it >_>

I am liking the Unlimited Blade Works cover. Hope they use normal size Blu-ray case's and not those half size ones I have seen them using, or is that just Kaze releases?

I'm at the opposite end here, I don't like the fat UK/AUS cases. They take up more space and look uglier.
I like the US cases which are thinner and just nicer. Kaze's cases are still thinner, but feel cheap - maybe to match the contents of the case ;)

First world problems I know :D

I totally agree with the Lupin stuff, really hoping that art work isn't final & they change it to match the US cover or get something that doesn't look so bad..preferably the US one.
