Someone loves their shadow on that disk count for From the New World.

Now seeing the Hanabee cover, I see they also have the same style disk count. I wonder if MVM and Hannabee share the same 'artist'.

Hmm, MVM/Hanabee are using the gorgeous JP cover art for their release of From the New World. I would've been buying it regardless but that's a pleasant surprise.

...but I really do wish MVM would do away with that pesky, redundant disc count logo.

Re: Kamisama Kiss. In other news, pigs still can't fly. 12 is much more like it. Count me in as another who wishes MVM would ditch the disc count logo. I know how to count, thanks.

Apparently it's something that retailers like to see, and Tony said he likes it. He did say that he'd mention it to the guy who re-purposes the AU artwork but I doubt anything will change.

I don't understand it, I have never in my life witnessed anyone be persuaded to buy something because of a disk count, nor be interested or care ..

Price is what sells a product to the general public as well as good art work to get attention and specs soon after for the more tedious of us, disk count seems so irrelevant.

That's not a gripe at MVM, It just baffles me.

+1. People buy things because they know they already like it or they see the cover art/read the description and decide to buy it. I cannot for the life of me picture someone going "Oh this has 24 episodes on 4 discs, but this has 24 episodes on 3 discs, I'll buy the one on 4 discs instead" Videophiles these days will be buying BluRay where possible too.

Also, if that were the case, why don't boxsets of TV shows have similar logos on? I don't think I've ever seen any which do.

My X-Files boxsets don't have a logo, but they do have a disc count at the top, my nu-BSG Blu-ray box has no disc count, by Due South box has an 18 Disc Set written in a red circle which may as wel be a logo... I guess it varies.

Dude I was totally on the bench about getting Accel World but then I was all like HOLY S#IT TWO DISCS!!!!! and then I preordered 4 copies.

On a less serious note. Sort your life out MVM no one cares about disc counts :p or at the very least clean reversible covers (you've got some great titles coming out), then everyone's happy :)

Also, does Accel World volume 2 really need the episode listing on the back?

Probably does to make it consistent with volume 1

I wish MvM would hurry up and banish the disc count logo to the back, or better yet, state how many episodes over how many discs in the technical info, i.e. the place the functional stuff should be.

I will admit that I pre-ordered a Sentai disc when I knew it was over 2 BD's rather than 1, but that's not quite the same issue.

Episode titles being listed anywhere on the packaging really bugs me, sometimes titles are as bad as spoilers for killing tension in a series.

No it did not, but now we have such a thing they kinda have to run with it, I wasn't saying it was a good thing.
