I seriously hope this is a temporary thing and Amazon just haven't got round to lowering the prices yet. There's no way they'd risk losing out on all those sales.

I'd be tempted to try Base, but apparently the deliveries are slow - and to be fair, I'm a pretty die-hard loyalist when it comes to ordering everything off Amazon.

The prices have been sky high for over a month now, its strange. They usually don't stay so high for so long.

Time to vote with our feet and shop elsewhere, Base.com seems to be competitive and I know I've snagged a few BD's off UP1 that come in under Amazon's prices. Bound to more shops out there aswell with potential
 
I remember Manga saying that the increasing Amazon prices is why they've been promoting Base so much recently. I can't actually find that comment anywhere right now though.
 
Base's £23 is very tempting. Is their pre-order policy same as Amazon? Ie. Price guarantee and not charged till ship.
Sucks about Amazon. I have 5% discount and free Prime delivery. Shame.

BASE will NOT charge you before they ship.
However, their price promise is strange:
Our Price Promise means that when your order is ready for dispatch, we compare the current price of the title against the price we quoted at the time of your order, and we only charge you the lower of the two.

Which basically means they'll only compare prices from when you order and when it's released. So if it dips and goes back up inbetween it SEEMS that they won't honor that sort of price drop.
I keep an eye on my orders to see if they drop every few days and will cancel / reorder as needed.

To be honest if anything It's Amazon that has the strangest promise (which also makes it the best)

Base's promise is a standard 'we will sell for the price we quoted you, expect on the off chance the current price is lower and then we will charge you that'. Still good, but if there is a significant dip you'll have to be checking back regularly to take advantage of it.

Is it just me that finds the Bleach packaging weird at the moment? 3 discs spread over two normal size DVD cases (within each box) to contain just 11 episodes? Surely just taking up shelf space unnecessarily?

That does sound weird, not just the double case situation but the fact it's over 3 discs, you expect 2 discs for anything that's 13 or fewer episodes.

Obvious choice for the SnK artwork. It's definitely a striking image, but some of the cover art for the JP release is a lot more dynamic.
 
Saw this under the GL "Ultimate Edition" on Amazon, it's up with the gray background box art we've seen before
