The main issue I had with the original cover was that it features characters who won't be introduced until the next volume.

(And let's not mention the lack of OVA in the first release. Please try and sort that out for the second volume, or even a standalone release please Sentai).

I suppose it's still early days but I do worry about Shirobako being unjustly treated poorly (you could argue that's already happening). I do hope that it gets the recognition it deserves some day. I'm used to great shows that I like being ignored because of their genre but I think Shirobako is the kind of show that goes beyond genre and has something for almost everyone. It's not necessarily that it's "better", just that it has some particular unique aspect that makes it worth watching regardless of the types of shows you normally watch.

I could be wrong, of course. Maybe at some point in the future I'll look at it and feel that it's missing some essential element that could make it truly endure. Still, at the moment it very much feels that it has something special and I find it kind of sad that so few people are likely to ever get to experience that.

It's difficult to say without knowing the circumstances of the deals but it feels like Sentai could have made a bit more effort to try and push Shirobako. If they could get people watching the show, then it should be able to speak for itself. I guess that could still end up happening but I can't help feeling somewhat disheartened.

I have my fingers crossed that Anime Limited pay pick up the license for the series here and give it the beautiful bells and whistles it deserves. I agree with you that a series of Shirobako's calibre definitely deserves more; especially considering what Sentai Filmworks have done for Beyond The Boundary and Akame ga Kill.

Its the main artwork of the show so its not bad
Sadly the show will not have the original OPs, FFS do Sunrise want me not to buy the show or something.

I'm really impressed with how Discotek has been handling their titles, they're a niche company but my god they're basically the equivalent of Anime Limited but take whatever license they get and provide a stunning package. I have yet to pickup a Discotek title but I certainly do want to consider them as the best US distributor we've seen these past few years. And yes they even put their shows on Crunchyroll (US only unfortunately but still they're dedicated to getting their catalogue out there).

was a massively overlooked show on the basis of having a pretty bad first episode. I really enjoyed it after that, but that cover isn't exactly thrilling.

I think the layout of Brother's Conflict cover is strangely appealing, but the obvious winner in that lot is Eden of the East.

Hmm the Eden of the East art looks like the a4 style box DtB & Soul Eater have, if so that's disappointing. On the other hand Psycho Pass 2's PE art looks similar to the Season 1 PE art so hopefully it'll be similar to that. Although having heard pretty bad things about the 2nd season not sure whether it'll be worth it.

On Funi's site, it looks like its Blu-ray Chipboard size. Same goes for Psycho Pass 2 PE.

Psycho Pass is A/B so thats good will grab the complete collection and need to grab the FUNi set for season 1. Is the manga season 1 self authored?

The reversible cover for Indian Summer does make up for the lewd cover art that Sentai has used for the front.

No idea why you'd want the reverse though

Any idea how much Sentai is charging for Indian Summer? I just noticed it's only 3 episodes long.

Why not? It looks cool (just a cosplay style thing that doesn't harm anyone). :p

SRP is $19.98.
