UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2024 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

If I could get any one piece of insider info out of AL headquarters, no limits!

It would have to be what the hell was the print run on 009:Cyborg?!?!
Like 10,000?!
It's been in the Xmas sale every year for like 8yrs including the mystery box 2 or 3 times!

After this Xmas sale maybe just take all remaining copies out back and burn them... or bury them in the desert. Its the kindest option.

A better option would be just to give it away as a 'free gift' if you spend over a certain amount.

Arrow and other distributors do this all the time with cheap releases that clearly haven't sold well.
 
MVM just always has tiny sales last few years. Just seems half hearted

AL is what I'm hoping to go crazy on, but the current sales are not interesting because they are repeats and I have what I want with just a couple of exceptions. I'm keen for when they release the 'old' stuff and flash sales. I'm eager to go crazy and hoping they give me good reason.

I have the new evangelion movie sitting in my cart...
 
So base on the info on the MVM mystery Blu Ray boxes, Bundle 1 has 5 items with price value of £ 204.99, so dividing the amount by 5 the estimated value of each item is £41, for Bundle 2 its £ 189.99 so its £38 per item

Of course it is. After I placed an order for the other two I wanted without the discount code and paying for postage because I had even less appetite to look for £20 worth of stuff I didn't really want than £10 worth, while the prospect those might also go OOS hung over my head. Thanks for letting me know anyway.
 
MVM had 1 good sale I liked, for Log Horizon season 3, it was like 49% off. Did a refresh a few moments ago, now its 20% off. It's like they are encouraging us to ignore their sales and site...
 
I've been taking a look at what might be included in the flash sales. From the information we have, it seems that the flash sales will begin at 9:00 on each day and each product will last for 2 hours at their respective discounted price (as long as it remains in stock during that period). Crucially, it was mentioned in the Xmas sale preview video, that these products would lean more towards the higher end of things (which would continue the form from last year).

If we assume that the Flash sales will end at 17:00 on their allocated days, to make way for the new theme, that makes time for 4 products on each of the flash sale days. This would make a total of 12 products over the 3 days.

Having a look on Anime Limited's website, I filtered on all their products and searched products that were £50 or above in price. I ignored any super recent releases, any half sets (although I suppose they could combine two sets for a discount), vinyl sets, and any sets already on sale.

This is what I came up with in terms of some what may come in the flash sales:
  • Great Pretender Complete Season 1 - Blu-ray Deluxe Edition (despite being released early this year, I think this could be included, as the original asking price was somewhat steep so perhaps didn't sell as well as they'd hope. I could see a reduction to around £60 on this).
    • Another thing that makes me think this may be in the flash sale, is that Cardcaptor Sakura CE was in the flash sale last year, and I remember the standard Carcaptor sets also going on a "buy together" discount deal during the sale as well. So maybe they could do the same with the Great Pretender Deluxe in the flash sale and the equivalent standards on the upcoming "buy together" deal.
  • B The Beginning - Ultimate Edition Blu-ray (appeared in today's last chance to buy sale) ❌
  • Nadia: Secret of the Blue Water Ultimate Edition 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Book ✅
  • Tower of God Ultimate Edition Blu-ray ✅
  • Violet Evergarden the Movie - 4K UHD + Blu-ray Collector's Edition ✅
  • Makoto Shinkai Anthology - Blu-ray (maybe to try and shift stock)
That's only six items, but I suppose there is also scope for Anime Limited to include some of the higher end vinyl sets too, but other than that, I'm not sure what else they could include from what I saw.

I also suppose there is the small chance they repeat some from last year given they've repeated some mystery box stuff (i.e., Blood-C Ultimate Edition Blu-ray and Revolutionary Girl Utena - Blu-ray Complete Series Limited Edition are not currently on sale).

For what it’s worth, B The Beginning - Ultimate Edition Blu-ray was a regular sale item last year at £29.99.

Good to know. With the expanded number of flash sale items compared to last year, they could well end up having to do a few repeats (if they're going down the line of higher-end/ultimate edition stuff in these specific sales).
