UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2022 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

Regarding Nadia's packaging, their description's pretty vague: "The full set of discs are stored within a rigid slipcase." Is that a digipak? Amaray cases? Maybe that hasn't been determined yet, since there aren't really packaging shots?
Rigid case is just a cover/rigid packing. Will there be digipacks/bd-cases/book inside... I suspect it's still not certain. It's a bit weak, because we buy without full knowledge, but ... It's Nadia, I bought it, I used the coupon, because I was waiting for this series. I even added "K: Seven Stories" because it returned to the store.

If Tower of God UE will only be here and this pre-order will be active for a week, then maybe I'll buy it.

Current status:
Berserk Deluxe on vinyl
Nadia UE 4K/BD
K: Seven Stories CE

Btw. I have old Nadia release from UK, and it was on 5 discs.

So the blurb for Nadia on AL's website says:

Features the complete Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water (episodes 1-39) with English and Japanese audio and English subtitles, across four Blu-ray discs and four 4K UHD discs (with an SDR presentation).

I'm not 100% sure what they mean by 4K UHD discs with an SDR presentation. Does this mean you get standard dynamic range and the usual high dynamic range or just one or the other?

4K resolution, standard dynamic range. Still a waste for a transfer inferior to the old Sentai/Animatsu one

Quite disappointed by Nadia, firstly in the price for what they are offering. I know books aren’t all about page count but look at what the South Koreans got, 1st book had 576 pages, 2nd book had 300 pages and 3rd book had 100 pages. Maybe they could only get so much content but its disappointing to see.

Secondly no actual product shots or video extras mention. I am getting a bit sick of companys putting something up to order and not actually showing what it will look like, I understand that artwork and etc needs to be approved but I hate spending money on something I don’t even know what it will look like as this is what happened with Blood C and look how that turned out. Its the bare minimum to show what actual product looks like.

Thirdly one the discs now I have a little bit of hope about this seems as its might actually be a new master due to them using 4 blu ray disc instead of the 5 discs like Gkids are using but then this leads me to think how much are they squeezing onto these disc since its a 39 episode show. Also as a side note it looks like its been re BBFC since it claims a 15 when the old Animastu one was a 12 but I can’t find anything on the BBFCs website so this could just be a typo.

Overall kinda of weak and disappointing in my opinion, I was hoping for something on the South Korea level but maybe I should of tempered my thoughts. I just hope AL gives us some more information.

All my financial obligations (Christmas shopping, Car Insurance etc) are finally complete. I didn't anticipate I would be able to join in this year but in a turn of fortune I have about £70 left over for personal use.

Anyone got a nice suggestion from either the AL or MVM sale? I'm thinking maybe an early bird redux from AL or maybe I'll see what all the fuss is about with Aria

£150?

I had sleepless nights after paying £45 each for the US combo releases of Brave Witches and Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid season 1.
As I've got a DVD player and a Blu-ray player, I got over it.

Nadia is limited... to how many pieces? This is not known.

Do we know anything about how long these discounted pre-order prices will last? Until tomorrow... Or longer?

Ordered the mvm dvd mystery box after finding out whats in it....probs one of the best anime ever in it(just my humble opinion)... And nearly paid £30 for just the 1 dvd last week aswell

Can I ask what was in the DVD mystery box? I missed when someone posted contents!

(In spoilers obviously)

Someone as put contents on the mvm thread... I think last page or 2nd to last... Sorry not sure how do spoiler tags😂😂

Aw. Sod it. It’s only £30, so ordered.
Methinks MVM are going to arrive at work on Monday, and wonder what happened to cause this fresh pile of orders!

Edit: probably a bit late to be a useful suggestion, but I expected the MVM ‘mystery’ bundles to have been added to the first post here in the same way as the ATA ones?

I know it's not the first time I've mentioned high prices for anime but £150 for Nadia is absurd, especially as, to my knowledge, there is no standard edition currently in print, I don't know what the GKids masters are like but even if AL redid the whole thing and made it look so good that it would look razer sharp on a cinema screen for example, it would still not be worth this much.

If there were a much more reasonably priced standard edition then the ultimate would be a potentially good option for those who adore the show but the lack of a standard edition means that the ultimate is compulsory for anyone who wants to check it out, which paradoxically means that not many people will do so.

There's a trailer on YouTube if you want to see what GKIDS masters are like.

Suprisingly I did not notice any issues with the quality, though I'm still a 1080p user so maybe it's a 4K thing, but I just think it's too much money to justify it at any resolution.
