Zavvi lowered the price for the Tokyo Ghoul Collector's Edition to £34.19. (Which is around £8 cheaper than Base and Amazon)

http://m.zavvi.com/blu-ray/tokyo-ghoul- ... 29751.html

Seems to be back to £37.99 for me?

edit: I already had a pre-order open with them at £37.99 should this mean that due to their pre-order price promise I get charged £34.19. It would be useful if I could prove it was at the lower price - even if it was for a short while but I don't have that proof :S

It's a good series, and I enjoyed it but that release is missing the OVAs, which are pretty important. They're also not legally streaming if that bothers you. (The show is on Crunchyroll). For £10, I'm having it though
The Sentai Blu-rays of the TV series and OVAs are apparently region free. I think the OVA set sometimes drops below £15 from Amazon sellers (I forget the lowest I've seen it though) so that could be an option. That would depend on having a Blu-ray player, of course, and it might feel odd paying as much or more for less episodes. Just thought I'd mention it.

In case anyone else had a pre-order of Tokyo Ghoul @ Zavvi... I got the following response...

I can confirm that once your order has entered the dispatch process, the pre-order price promise will apply and you will be charged the lower price.

So I guess I'll wait and see.

I cancelled my Amazon pre-order for FMA. It was still stuck at the original price, and AoL's price is now cheaper than I would be paying with my £10 voucher. Not going to order from AoL yet since I only use Paypal there and that goes out immediately, plus I can keep an eye on Amazon's price in the meantime.

Wow, that cheap for a two cour show before release? I'm genuinely pretty surprised.

Protip: when you feel genuinely surprised because something is too good to be true, that's because it is.

Dunno if the dub from the US DVD set is included but regardless, video quality meant to be naff: 3 discs and the colour vibrancy/stylisation is visual selling point of show. US reviewers were not impressed.

I just want to buy it so we might possibly get future JoJo releases in the West. I plan on importing the Japanese blu rays eventually as they have English subs. I just need a region A blu ray player first.

Are the Japanese BDs not region free then? I would have assumed they would be.

I'm pretty sure BluRay.com said A. You guys are probably right.
On cdjapan it says they are region free and everything I've bought from that says region free has been.

Blu-ray.com has Jojo's Volume 1 and 2 as Region Free, while 3 and 4 are Region A (B & C untested). Haven't checked the others, but it means what it says, no one at Blu-ray.com have tried the discs in any but Region A players to know.

EDIT: If they were confirmed as locked it would list Region A (locked)

All 7 vols of the first season say region free on cdjapan, but would be nice to know 100% but as I said before all blu rays I've got from cdjapan that say region free have been.

Full Metal Panic - Ultimate Edition (Seasons 1-3) [Blu-ray] has decreased from £132.63 to £113.90
Still more expensive than Zavvi though (£100).

But at least you won't get it in a jiffy bag :D
