These copies of Kill La Kill aren't the remainder of the batch with the out of synch episode 4 are they? Just checking.

Yes they are, it's only the english dub that's out of synch on episode 4 though so if you watch subbed you're fine.

All stock that wasn't available at the last MCM expo in London had the defective disc pulled and replaced with a fixed disc before they went to retail so there aren't any copies around that have that fault.

Did anyone read what they were buying? Its the copy that has the delay as dragon states, the same version I got stiffed with at the expo.

'NOTE: Reminder to folks - this is the version with a 0.4 second de-synchronisation on Episode 4's dub. This is something we advertised at the start and would like to remind folks of now as no replacements will be issued for that disc.'

I sent anime ltd a Facebook message last month asking if they can sell/supply me a replacement disc since I got it at the expo. Andrew replied saying they would send me one, but after this message I have my doubts, even-though I don't think Andrew is one to go back on his word.

The condition of those KLK sets being in the sale was that they were the ones with the defect, hence why they offered them so cheap. I think they stated they would not offer replacement discs to people who bought them as part of this deal.

He probably means that if people buy it as part of the sale then they can't ask for replacement discs....

That was my understanding too. I never watch dubs anyway so for me the deal was worthwhile, but that's the reason they kept mentioning the defect wherever they promoted the sale. They're just getting rid of the stock of the first edition which had an issue with the dub in one episode.

The fixed version will still be available to those who purchased before the fault was known (i.e. at Expo) and for those who buy from regular stores without a note on the listing.

I goofed and looked before I leaped like the silly rabbit I am.

I'll make the best of my situation then.

Not going back on our word there, if you bought at Expo then you didn't know the issue was there - this was just us informing folks buying in the sale of what they were getting :).

Best,

Andrew

Great news! Thanks Andrew, I knew I shouldn't have doubted you or the Anime Ltd staff. :)

I'm tempted by the Monogatari's. I have the first Part of Bakemonogatari on Blu-Ray.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first few episodes. Seemed really cheesy and more of a harem with the characters that seem to get introduced later on. (PS: I do not like harem's or overly stereotypical characters. - It's why I'm put off by Toradora too)

Would anyone recommend I continue? Based on my enjoyment of Lodoss, Slayers, Utena, etc?

In my opinion, Monogatari is more of a self-aware parody of a harem than anything else. If you take it seriously as a straight harem show, it's weak unless you happen to like the girls, but if you treat it as social commentary it's more interesting (especially if you like gags which play with the Japanese language and lots of strange fan service). It deliberately includes as many stereotypical harem elements as possible just so that it can mess around with them.

If you don't like the characters from the first arc you may find a few of the later ones more palatable.

I like all of your favourites for what it's worth, but then I think anyone with good taste does :D
