UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

What time does the sale start? Will probably get up a bit earlier to try and ensure I get Hal.

9am's getting up early? I remember those days.

Anyway, sorry but I got 2 of these (1 for a friend), I got it before they even changed the link on the front page. I knew it would go fast and by the looks of the order numbers they only had 10-20 of each title to sell a day.

All The Anime Deal of the Day,

Hal - Collector's Edition Combo Pack - £12.99
http://shop.alltheanime.com/products/ha ... combi-pack

Already put in an order for my brother. As with recent sale items, free shipping is still available for this.

Free shipping inside the UK otherwise its £12, which is mental for shipping to Ireland and removes most of the savings. Ended up having to get it sent through a reshipment company that gives me a Belfast address for a €4 fee.

Not surprised it sold out really as this was the one that everyone was waiting for and at the price of £12.99 everyone that was on the fence went straight for it.

I managed to order mine just before 9.

Did you buy from Madman Entertainment in 2014?

Then check your e-mail inboxes as you should have a 25% off voucher from them. (I've already used mine :) )

What's Madman Entertainment's store like (i.e. for delivery to the UK) as I've always been interested in ordering directly from them but didn't want to get hit by customs etc.

I think it's a case of you take your chances... I ordered from them once, and it got through uncharged.

I bagged Hal.

So that Rightstuf debate, do you need to send them your payment details? I think I want the Berserk Manga but only if I can just input my credit card details and place my order.

Wahooo Zaavi kept Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star at the £16.99 I ordered them at. Checked today and Bebop is £25 again and Outlaw Star £35! AND, they have the stock in now so they've been dispatched today for me :)

Yeah I had an email from them asking me to send in a copy of a bill with my name and address on it, then to send in scans of the front and back of my credit card.

That just rings so many alarm bells, not that I don't think they are a legitimate company as they have been around years. Its just that I don't care how secure their connection is, sending in a bill and scans of my card? That ain't happening.

Orders cancelled.

You can black out one set of numbers on the card (in fact, it even states that in their FAQ) before sending it, and this is the only way they can protect themselves from being the victim of fraud since it confirms that you are who you say you are and isn't a person who obtained the card details through other means.

As long as they aren't using SSLv3, then the information can't be intercepted by a third party and all information is destroyed once everything has been verified (this only has to be done once regardless of if you have to change cards).

Strange that they're the only company who still uses this antiquated method.

I was just about to post something very similar britguy.

I shop at all kinds of online shops in other countries (Some even I can't understand due to the language), and I have never been asked for these details. The technology is obviously there, why don't they use it?

I've been buying my volumes from Amazon UK if it's of any help/use to you :)

Upto you, what they look from you can't really be used for credit card fraud if intercepted if you do as they tell you and blackout a set of numbers and the cvv number. Anything with your name and address is also acceptable for proof of address, I used my drivers licence with my photo and D.O.B. removed.

Have never gotten any fraudulent charges from doing this with Rightstuf and I've had to do it 3 times over the years.

I think its their method of making sure they are only dealing with buyers who genuinely want the stuff they're ordering. People who have handed over details such as those are less likely to pretend that items haven't been delivered etc.

On another note, managed to bag HAL this morning, pretty happy with the price. I've been pleasantly surprised by the discounts AL have been applying.

I think she is looking at Rightstuf because of their sale on the Berserk manga. I think it works out to £5-6 a volume, whereas Amazon is £10 per volume.

I want to buy it off of Rightstuf, too, but that credit card thing is putting me off. Plus I'm not 100% sure what the import charges are. Does anyone know?
