The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

Not sure about Spice & Wolf now, though it's overall better than the DVD I guess? Did Aus get a decent BD release or??

I assume they would use the same masters/discs, since the Blu-ray discs are Region AB.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Thanks for the recommendations on P&SWG. Now I'm trying to decide if I should buy that or Highschool DxD. Noticed that has gotten fairly cheap now too.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

IncendiaryLemon - DxD is fun. I'm no fan of ecchi shows but really enjoyed the story and characters. Probably one of the best in it's genre IMO.

Ta. I think I'll go for the Spice & Wolf set, it'll be better than my MangaUK DVD's at the very least.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

I've never been interested in Panty & Stocking. The animation brings me back to, as someone said, the Powerpuff Girls. I am uninterested by that greatly. Some others my not be so put off though :3

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Manga-related question - but has anyone read the Evangelion Shinji Ikari Raising Project manga series? Is it any good/how fanservicey is it?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

If the Kill la Kill Volume 3 collectors box is only available in the first print of the blu ray/dvd will I have to pre order to get it or will it be available for a time after? I don't currently own any of the KLK sets but I'm thinking that I'll buy Volume 3 and buy 1 and 2 at a later date when they fall in price. Well when 2 falls in price, Volume 1 is already fairly cheap IIRC. Also, if I were to pre order, is anywhere cheaper than Zavvi for Blu Ray (£39.99)?

You won't have to pre-order assuming you buy from someone who still has stock of the 1st print run.

The issue is when will AL do a 2nd print run, hard to say but I reckon it'll be announced when it happen so people have a chance to grab the last few boxes (this might also mean it's increasingly expensive as stock of the box version drops).

Base.com have it for 38.99 right now, and Amazon goes up and down, right now it's higher than Zavvi/Base but I'd expect by the end it'll be lower. It dropped to £37.38 for a little while a week ago, so it pays to pre-emptively pre order with them to lock in the good prices.

Right thank you. I think I'll probably pre order on Amazon in case the price goes down but if it doesn't a few days towards release I'll cancel and go for Base.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Having never bought anything from the US version of United Publications I'm curious how it works. I want to buy Garden of Sinners Recalled Out Summer, but it's around £12 cheaper on the US site so I'm curious, if I buy from the US site, will it still be shipped from the UK warehouse? Or will I have to wait weeks and maybe have to deal with customs?

It'll be shipped from the UK warehouse so you won't have to deal with customs and it'll be the delivery time they estimate for it but you'll get charged on your debit/credit card for paying using $. I'm with Halifax and i got charged about £2 when i last bought from UP1USA, it's the same charge no matter how much you spend, it depends on what bank you're with on how much you get charged though.

Yeah I vaguely remember getting a extra charge of £2 when I bought a Humble Bundle a while back, didn't realize the US site didn't accept Paypal though :/ seems a bit odd but I'm sure there's a valid reason for it. Thanks for the information, glad I won't have to deal with customs.

Just thought I'd chime in and say my copy of Garden of Sinners Recalled Out Summer arrived from the US version of United Publications today. Came well packaged, so the sleeve wasn't crushed, so recommending!

I emailed them to confirm everything does ship from the UK, as already mentioned, the only charge you're likely to get is the bank charging you for a non-sterling transaction. Think it's about £1.50 for me. Also, your bank may phone you up for security purposes if they see payments coming out in dollars, but this is unlikely to happen (happened to me, but my bank hates it when I spend money on the internet...).

Cool, I'll give it ago then, thanks.

As for the bank, they like to call me when I buy stuff from sites in the UK I've used many times before, so I'll be expecting a call...lol

I strongly advise it (assuming you mean Tenri-hen)

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Anyone know if this has a reversible cover? http://www.up1.co.uk/Details/M1924-Mich ... on+Blu-ray

Yes, The Tenri OVA's are vital to the story. You could watch season 3 without but I would say it'd hinder your enjoyment.

(plus Tenri best girl)

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Didn't United publications had a UK warehouse. Yes it seems pretty expensive but if they have a joint JP and US release of the HF movies and they each cost about the same as ROS then I will buy it from there avoiding any import annoyances.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

So I just ordered something from United Publications USA and while I got a confirmation email, when I go to my account page, it says I have no standing orders. Is this right?

It'll take about a day (a little longer as it's a bank holiday), as they update their system by hand. (If you ever want to cancel, change your card details, or your password, you'll have to e-mail/submit the form on the site or phone them up).
