The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

For those who own the UK Crunchyroll release of Sound Euphonium season one does it come in a slim case or the standard UK size?

Same as Just Passing Through, I have it and got the UK standard case with slipcover.

Based on what I've gotten recently, I believe they have gone back to this format for new releases.

A more general question but does anyone have any experience buying things from Japan and shipping them to the UK through a proxy? I’ve seen Zen Market advertised a lot recently but are there any other companies that you would recommend over them?

I've used Tenso before, pretty good although was a bit of a pain to initially set up iirc

I also use Tenso and find their service good, they pack items well if you ask them to combine packages and the customer service has always been quick to respond if I've had questions.

I've used FromJapan a few times with no problems, and they do frequent sales and monthly discount codes. I've only used FromJapan though so I can't make any comparisons with other services.

Hi Everybody,

I am sort of interested in Bungo Stray Dogs.
I see the movie Dead Apple is about £5. Would that be an acceptable way to cheaply check out the show or does it take knowledge of earlier seasons?

Thanks

IMO you need to see the TV series to get the movie.
Thanks for the reply.
I did some more research and Crunchyroll say the film takes place after S2.
If this is the case then I could buy the DVD of S1+2. Rarewaves have it for £11 which isn't a disaster if I do not like it. There does not seem to be any extras that would make the Blu-ray more desirable.
I'll wait to see if HMV join in the Crunchyroll sale over the next few days.

Not sure if this necessarily needs a new thread, so I'll ask in here - I have my eye on the upcoming US BD release of Shin Aim for the Ace and was looking for some advice on best sites to import to the UK from.

mediaocd.com looks good and I know that WOWHD also do imports but is there anywhere better/cheaper etc?

Many thanks.

As far as I know, WowHD does not stock Discotek titles. They are more or less exclusive to Amazon, CR Store, Mediaocd & Diabolik.
Whilest Amazon often charges full SRP on Discotek titles, their shipping fees are lower than most competitors and you won't get hit by additional customs handling fees.

Poking around some of AL's former sister companies under PLAION to see what releases might look like in the months ahead (as some of these surely coordinated before the TOHO stuff completed)

Anime Factory (Italy)
Very quiet on their store it seems? Code White (standard only) being the latest addition then the Haikyu!! film (again standard only) and...

Angles Egg product is up. No English/French/German/Italian 'super master' to cover all of PLAIONs areas but maybe an idea of what ours could look like materials wise (assuming AL have it too)

Anime Planet (Germany)
A lot busier here with lots of things I (a newbie) have never heard of so I'm picking out a couple I think are notable
A Lull In the Sea gets a new standard release (German language only as expected). Hopefully someone here comes and licenses this too (though not got my hopes up)

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (and all of the other non-Wolf Children) Hosada films are up in seem to have been made for all PLAOIN areas. Maybe this is a good idea of what our editions will look like.

I guess these will be some of the last coordinated releases around Europe and instead we will turn our attention to GKIDS by the end of this year...

A Lull in the Sea did get a UK release, although you'll have to trawl eBay looking for pre-owned at this point.

Yes and I poke around every now and again for one at a price I can stomach (same with Ping Pong) but we didn't get a standard edition!

*My collection is all Blu-ray and region B compatible only (thus far...a couple of things only in A have had me tempted)

Does anyone know where I can watch The Eccentric Family Season 2?

I've tried googling it, using a VPN. I'd prefer not to sail.
So I tried signing up to crunchyroll through prime (7 day trial) and tried different countries with my VPN, but no success. Then I signed up to crunchyroll through youtube, they had eccentric family season2, success but wait. No English Subtitles? Why?

if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
