The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

The problem with Amazon is that if they randomly decide to sell at a ridiculous markdown to shift stock or get people talking about a listing, they can just do it. Even if AtA set the SRP at £500 Amazon can decide to turn around and price it at £5. It's absurd, and they don't give vendors any control.

I'm not entirely familiar with how they work, but you must sell the sets to Amazon at an agreed wholesale price though Andrew? They can't decide how much you make out of a sale, surely?

Personally I don't really care if Amazon (being the megacorp they are) make very little or even a loss on their sales as long as the distributors get their money.

Bingo there - there's a set wholesale price which Amazon never goes below obviously and then the rest is up to them / a dart board / computer algorithms (delete as seems appropriate per title).

OK that looks amazing. And as promised, my favourite cover art (the standard edition one) is at least represented as the cover of the book, so I'm happy. Can't wait till mine arrives next week!

Were this the case, we would see a far greater number of titles being sold at an initial price of £180.

Yes, because companies love to wait and see if amazon will randomly discount there items and make themselves look bad by giving artificially high prices consistently in the hope of getting inconsistent discounts? I have a feeling Andrew and the others are a bit more knowledgeable about this subject.

Also quick question Andrew, love your stuff but noticed I'm having an issue when I try and order the Attack On Titan OST on it's own. Pricing for delivery is over double the cost of the item and nearly triple it's cost. Is this a mistake or is it intended that we have a minimum order amount before being eligible for free delivery and there's no cheap delivery option?

I think there can be a presumption as to whether it was a joke or not but it's fabrication to confirm that on his behalf. Even were it a joke I can still highlight the unrealistic aspect of it.

Anyone here a fan of Brothers Conflict? Well I have some good news for you.

Funimation have picked up the home video rights to the show. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD during Fall 2015.

The show was one of the streaming titles that many have feared to end up in home video licensing limbo with the likes of Kingdom (rumours have circulated that the show is getting dubbed), Danganronpa: The Animation, C3: Cube x Curse x Curious and a few more.
