Trouble is on a battlefield you don't want to be the guy in the 12 ft tall suit, theres a reason tank designs have been getting shorter and shorter, last thing you want to do is stand out.
Unless you're so tough and/or powerful it doesn't matter if anyone can see you or not. That's an angle weapons design and warfare has been neglecting recently - it's all been about camouflage and stealth. There's something to be said for intimidation, overwhelming force and just smashing the hell out of everything. 12 feet? The life-size Gundam replica is 18 metres high! It could probably just pick tanks up and lob them at the horizon.

Or just step on them.

From this discussion I have decided that Ayase needs to be one of the pilots when mobile suits become available.

I ask you, WHY should the British public have to endure this seemingly random, unpredictable charge? When it's impossible to predict if your parcel will be levied with VAT and handling fees - even when you know full well it should - how are you supposed to react to that.

When I don't get charged, I usually react by skipping back from the sorting office in delight and spending the money I saved on more DVDs, personally :)

I caution you; following the line of duty is a demanding and even deleterious endeavour. Flagitious rogues serve only to oppose you.

The power of a man portable anti-tank weapon out does pretty much any amount of armour you can stack onto something. It's simply not viable to create something of that nature at this time.

I don't think anyone's suggesting it is. Was it possible to create half the things we have now ten years ago? Someone has to dream of the future and start the ball rolling, otherwise we'd never get anywhere. The fact that something isn't currently possible shouldn't stop people from trying to realise it.

I'd expect it wouldn't occur from someone trying to build a giant robot, rather someone creates an alloy that's really tough for one purpose, someone else is working on mechanical arms/machines etc and then the whole thing could come together.

Also very much looking forward to Shana aswell :)

i guess Shana is a popular anime......... iv got it but haven't watched it, i was going to at one point but i found out theres a season 2 and such, so i put it to one side in the waiting pile ( waiting pile is a bunch of anime that is waiting for the whole series before i watch it) theres a few Exceptions like the naruto, one piece bleach hetalia any series that either a long series or a series i watched and did know it had a continuation

Why are Viz spending so much money dubbing so many series when they can barely release anything other than the biggest selling Shounen Jump shows? :s

Neon Alley seems like a massive step backwards with its dub-only policy and lack of any international awareness. It will be interesting to see what Manga do now, as the announcement of a dub for Durarara!! annoyed a fair few UK fans who were buying the Beez release and this is going to be similar. If they do keep it going and it sells horribly due to people waiting for the dub, they'll conclude nobody wants subbed releases...we can't win.

it depends on the series there are series that work well better with subs and series that work well better with dubs

Viz is probably just hosting it, if I recall Neon Alley is not just for Viz's shows.

Yup Aniplex have Blue Exorcist On there, there's also Tai Seng Entertainment too for some martial arts movies, there looking to get content from Companies Such as Warner Bros and Funimation and other anime companies as well as Music Video content, ANN will have prescence on there too. So basically it is actually more than just Anime, we just have to wait and see what comes up.

The best part though is if it ends up on Neon Alley, then it will be released physically too!

Mixed feelings on the Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky anime series. It's an adaptation of the second game and I'd probably rather go into the second game fresh rather than already knowing the story. Not sure how long I'll be able to hold out though as it sounds like XSEED have some way to go until the second game is ready.

I wonder how the announcement of Blue Exorcist's dub will affect MangaUK's release? Could we see a delay so MangaUK can have the dub in their release, or maybe they'll promise a dub boxset later down the line, which will mean people won't buy the sub-only sets as they're waiting for a dub, meaning the dubbed boxset gets cancelled due to low sales of the sub-only volumes?

So it can either go down two routes:
The Madoka route - where MangaUK waits until all the assets are available for the best possible release from a business perspective.
Or
The K-ON! route - where MangaUK releases it as soon as they can, promising a better version later. This means people wait for the better version, so the first release doesn't sell well and said better version is cancelled as a result of that.

Knowing manga; sell empty cases and call fans entitled dips**ts when they complain.

Meanwhile via Twitter - Lagrange Series 2 is confirmed for Anime On Demand - let's just hope that isn't the only show this upcoming season.
Kazé really need to let this one go. It was a great experiment but it just doesn't work. It got us a season of Noitmana, often cockblokced by Funi as it is, but has done virtually nothing since it got kneecapped by both Kazé France utterly screwing up with P4 and then by themselves with the paywall debacle.
