EVENING UPDATE: Yep! Soundscan differs greatly, in exactly the ways I expected. Also some other ways, which in addition to last week’s data are revealing that it’s super **** at tracking anime specialty shops. This is clearly still hurting Kurobas a little, and probably Deremas as I don’t think Aniplex+ is included. This may also explain both why Charlotte was so underestimated going by Oricon sales, and why Soundscan has such a low number for it. It must be moving a ton at Aniplex+ shop.
Because of the super rare circumstances today, I’m posting the Soundscan tables as well (I won’t normally do this). If you’re curious about Soundscan having slightly different this week and total numbers for series in their first week, my assumption is that it’s counting a handful of discs that were reported/sold really early. Just pay attention to the total in this case.

Because personally, I thought there were a number of shows that deserved to sell more yet didn't. Charlotte had a lot of potential and was visually pleasing, but I can't help but feel that said potential was completely squandered towards the end of its run.Buzz201 said:Joshawott said:School-Live!'s initial sales are beyond disappointing, especially considering that Charlotte managed to shift so many units.
Why is everyone so bitter about Charlotte's sales? I was really disappointed by Charlotte and went on some colossal rants about one or two episodes, but even I'm fine with how many it sold in comparison to everything else.
