The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Interesting. They got Richard Epcar back to do Old Joseph, the same VA they had for those couple of episodes of Stardust Crusaders they dubbed. Maybe I'm reading too much into that but I wonder if they're going to press forward with the SC dub with the same cast they had for those trial episodes.

Fate/Kalied Liner Prisma Ilya has been given a 12 for moderate fantasy violence, sex references, nudity. The BBFC listing seems to indicate it will include the OVA, which is good, because somebody was spouting off on Facebook the other day about how AL had been told they couldn't have it...

Given how the first did I wouldn't put money on it.

More JoJo notes:
Benjamin Diskin has sort of come out of nowhere to be pretty much the best english VA in a long time. His Joesph is pretty much the best thing about the dub and that's not selling him short.

I just wish they were not on PS Vita which is pretty much dead these days (Hell, Bamco arn't even releaseing SAO : Lost Song or Digimon Cyber Sluth in english for it so...)

Umm.. They are.

Lost Song is getting a retail release alongside the PS4 version.

Cyber Sleuth is digital only while the PS4 version is retail.

I'd be tempted to hope that it was that the show had been picked up to air on a mainstream US network, but I imagine it'll be something more like the second season announcement, or perhaps a US live-action film/TV version or at worst, a rebooted version of the manga (hardcover editions?)

Cartoon Network/Adult Swim is about as mainstream as any anime not aimed at children will ever get. Also, it's still airing on CN/AS, so it can't be that.

I doubt they'd give the second season announcement to the US, and the fact the panel's title includes the word manga, suggests it won't be to do with the anime. So it's probably either another adaptation, or Kodansha will be printing an A4 sized version of the manga (the "biggest" version ever released)...

If it was an adaptation, I could see AMC trying to do something with it, they need some new hits that aren't spin offs and Kodansha are very insistent on using that io9 quote about it being "Japan's the Walking Dead" (despite the fact it's not really anything like The Walking Dead, neither comic book nor TV series), so maybe AMC are piloting it.

Just looked up the Sentai version: theirs is 2 BDs, 3 DVDs and 3CDs. And a heck of a lot of tat. TRSI doesn't detail what is on the CDs; any chance there's a full version of the OP on one of the CDs? It's on my (lengthy) list of singles I'd like to import (because they aren't in iTunes).
