Don't Kaze hold the UK rights though? presumably they are still valid for quite a while so we might still not get it here.

It might be that the blu ray rights, which weren't available at the time can be licensed separately from the DVD. Similar to what AL is doing with Baccano.
Baccano is different as there wasn't a Blu-ray of it until years after any deals were done, so it wouldn't have been part of the initial license agreements with Funimation and Manga. Blu rights were separate.
Future Diary on the other hand probably would have had both included, and considering the Japanese licensor appears to be Kadokawa and the JP sales were pretty meh, I wouldn't be surprised if there has been a holdback on a Blu-ray release until now.

Shedding some light, for Kaze this wasn't the issue but something on a materials side. Unsure the issue on Funi side though!

Finally, I can buy Future Diary and see what half the world was talking about several years ago >_>

I think this is the first time I've refused to buy a DVD set only for it to eventually pay off.

Well you will be in for a treat :D

Animatsu licensed Akame Ga Kill.

Annndd... Animatsu now have my money. Really looking forward to that. Curious how soon they will release it after Sentai.

I'll definitely pickup Akame Ga Kill. I stopped watching at the halfway point hoping that it would be picked up in the UK (by Anime Limited). However this is a good chance to get a good artbox out, fingers crossed.

AKG has got to get the Blu-Ray treatment (although to be honest it's not exactly the best looking of shows) - but I get the impression hardcore fans of that show are very vocal. I enjoyed it a great deal though after a rocky start, and the violence in it is top notch.

Well, lets hope it gets a better UK release than SAO. Akame ga Kill I enjoyed most of, and is a show I'd like an art box set for. We shall see though.

Madman have gone on record saying they will not use Viz's "remaster" of Sailor Moon and will, instead, encode it themselves.

So yeah, we might have a release of Sailor Moon in English that isn't total butt yet.

Their version of Volume 1 is due in april.

To add to ConadThe3rd, they've also said it will be DVD only as no HD masters are available. So you can go for either Viz's average looking Blu-Rays, or a remastered DVD copy from Madman.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

The BRs they made by blowing up the footage in the most cack-handed way possible which was then used to make the DVDs by compressing the footage in the most cack-handed way possible.

Ah, there's that Blood Pressure. Hello, friend.

Average? I'd say they're barely passable at best. Viz seriously need to stop using Subatomic Digital. Morbito looks bad, Gargantia looks terrible and Sailor Moon was a total disaster.

Cool, I couldn't get into Log Horizon but it has a huge amount of fan support online. Let's hope that translates into BD sales for MVM.

Log Horizon sounds interesting but very close to Sword art online (which I did enjoy). I might pick it up if money is good that month just to support mvm releasing blurays
