I remember reading somewhere that Urobuchi actually stopped working on Aldnoah.Zero after episode 3, because the other staff kept on interfering with his original plans. Apparently, season one was meant to end with Inaho and the Princess falling in love, but then Slaine takes the Princess away.

Quite the mess up for them in the early days. It was basically all down to buying a licence asap of something popular without having read fully into future volumes. Arguably Sentai could fall into a similar problem with the way they licence stuff before it's even had a few episodes out but Anime does tend to play it a bit safer than Manga.

@anime_andrew I assume theres a huge license kerfuffle as to why the commentary track is not obtainable? It would suck as the commentary is one of the best commentary tracks for any anime release, since its not one of those cut and dry ADV or Funimation commentaries, its more along the lines of Discotek's ones. I guess the original file source has been lost I guess?

Is it possible to get the pilot film frm the Manga DVD? What extra are gonna be included or a planned for the release anyway, since info has been sparce.

Heres hoping the packaging also notes that Ryuichi Sakimoto did the OST, as its a pretty fantastic score thats also rather haunting.

Maybe one day we'll see a 30th anniversary ultra GAINAX bounce edition in 2017 with the commentary to coinside with the sequel.

Just like to point out that it's cheaper to import the R1 copy, and by doing so you're not supporting Manga nor do you have to put up with PAL conversions.

Cheaper & no PAL are good reasons to consider importing, but I have to feel a little sad that we have got to a point where we should consider not supporting a UK company. (Well another company beyond existing Kaze concerns)

Whoah, this is potentially massive news - and I imagine even bigger for Manga. If they've got YGO now, this essentially fills the void that will be left by Bleach and DBZ ending for the next couple of years.

I'll say it mainly fills the void of Dragon Ball (like you said) since they could probably get a majority of YGO out of the way in 2015. But I won't be surprised if they aim to go after Digimon, Beyblade and perhaps Pokemon afterwards.

Monster Rancher could also be a possibility, I believe that recently got a US release?

Is Beyblade still a 'thing'? I remember the toys being massive back when I was about 10, but did the anime get much up-take here? Or is it still massive like Pokemon and I just haven't noticed?
