The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

I'm not a netflix user, but jeez that's fantastic news!

I do hope they are able to put all of their licences on there, especially things like Nerima Daikon Brothers & Blood Lad which never got a previous release/legal streaming :)

Wait, is KLK seriously in the kids section?

Oh Cwap, this does not look gowd for Homestar Wanner.

edit: False Alarm, thank goodness.

second edit: To clearify, KLK is a good show but by bum is it not a kids show.

Email from Amazon regarding 009: Cyborg:

"009 Re:Cyborg Collector's Edition [Blu-ray]"

Put two and two together and make five? Now that AL's Q4 listings are up...

Q4 is just around the corner and we’re getting our line-up locked down sooner rather than later! Compared to the very silent Q3 you can expect a good range of titles lined up for Q4.

We’ll have posts about each one separately showcasing pack shots and more over the next few months but I wanted to start by giving you a bit of an overview from September onwards.

Interesting to see Blood Lad get the exact same treatment as the US (booklet etc.), now it's up to the design of the packaging to make me choose whether I would want to go for it (because the Viz release is tempting). At least it's a month behind so there's time to choose.

I'll be pre-ordering HAL, Wings of Honneamise and that mystery film. Space Dandy is a maybe depending on the US treatment (same with Blood Lad and Kill la Kill pretty much).

December release for Kill la Kill isn't surprising considering Aniplex have yet to release Box Set #2's release date (probably going to be October at this rate).

I already have Gurren Lagann and Patema Inverted pre-ordered/kickstarted, looking forward to the package.

In case anyone missed the additional edit:
Edited to add: Pre-orders will go up for the above titles throughout the coming month (next few weeks)

I shall be picking up every show/film on Blu-Ray. I fully support their releases (and they seem to pick up my favourites). Hoping for FMP in Q1 2015 too.

Getting the overtime in for the end of the year! I was hoping Space Dandy would have dropped it's RRP a little bit to be more in line with Blood Lad and other shows, but I'll still be buying it.

Hold on a minute, looks like Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya is going to be a while longer than the US release date (September). In a way that could've fit into October/November's release schedule.

Finally with the release dates. Everything will be bought. TTGL, SPace Dandy and Patema already preo-ordered of KS'd.

I remember Andrew saying "mystery film and mystery series" for 2014, so I wonder if this is one of the stragglers they mention.

Space Dandy and Gurren Lagann UE I already have on pre-order and Patema UE I have already paid for on the kickstarter. Blood Lad I'll pre-order once is comes up. I wonder if AL are doing their own discs or getting them from Viz.

Kill la Kill, still not sure which version I will be getting.

I'll be getting Wings of Honneamise and Blood Lad. Kill la Kill and Space Dandy are maybe's. Already pre-ordered Gurren Laggan Collectors Edition and backed for Patema Inverted Ultimate Edition. I don't know anything about HAL and it depends what this mystery film is.

Surprisingly I'll be picking up every title, never thought I'd say that.

So glad I've already paid for Patema Inverted: Ultimate Edition, will make the end of the year a bit easier to manage.

I think a lot of why I buy AL's stuff comes down to wanting to support them as a company too - they deserve to succeed and I like what they do.

Thinking about the mystery film - did they ever say they were going to release Magical Sisters Yoyo and Nene from last years Scotland Loves Anime?

Just remembered they hinted at having giovannis Island. That fits the mystery film bill.

Even so, ANN and UKAN have pretty much done an article confirming they have the license so it isn't a mystery then (heh).
