I was thinking more along the lines of Andrew contacting Movic for a wholesale order, if 2000 copies are enough. If Amiami was selling them for 2280 yen, which is about £13.50, then I imagine the wholesale price would be about £6.75 each max.

Key issue is their license doesn't extend here and cost per unit traditionally is too expensive to buy the quantity required to do a significant collector's edition. I'd be better buying them in Animate and packing one in per volume in fact!

And if Aniplex of America aren't planning something similar for their release, would they even let us have it? Considering how we know they've acted with other titles lately, what with not letting us have Sword Art Online's covers without that ugly white background. I mainly thought of it considering what FUNimation are doing for their premium Attack On Titan release.

Depends on the release formula there on it - personally I'm a big fan of the Japanese covers for Kill la Kill but maybe needs a bit of sprucing up. Unsure right now - depends what we're provided with materials wise when packaging becomes an option etc :).

Got my proverbial thinking cap on though so watch this space!

(Waiting for Andrew to follow up with a post saying "I am NOT buying them in Animate and packing one in per volume!" xD).

I just looked up the Japanese covers and I do see what you mean. I just hope the sparkles on the regular cover actually y'know, sparkle.

@Andrew.

You Space Dandy Blu-ray, is it labeled as a collector's set because it's the full series, or is this going to come with an art box, art book etc?

It's Collector's as it's coming with art box and other extras (working out what we can get our hands on first for sure before I lay it out) :).

Regarding Kill la Kill - in France we're aiming for Japan Expo time so the production is already under-way there and they have to work with what they have. So the disclaimers as they come:

1. Not sure if it will be 2 or 3 parts for Anime Ltd's UK release, depends on what AOA agrees with us.

2. French release won't have English audio or subs because it's not ready to go at that point yet.

3. We are planning an artbox to house the whole series in and will do the storyboards / artbook if we like the quality of the FR one.

Right now we're mulling what we can do - I'd quite like to do something a bit more stylish instead of just an ad-verbatim Japanese release copy and I know Kat (who'll be managing the concept etc) is a huge fan of the show. So with that in mind here's the French mock-up:

PLEASE NOTE: ABOVE IMAGE DOES NOT IN ANY WAY REPRESENT A CONCEPT TO THE UK VERSION.

That does look very nice! Hopefully we can at least have something even a bit like that.
A random question - with the French release, does it include French audio or just Japanese? (I don't speak French anyway so I wouldn't import if it did, I'm just curious).

Also guys, The World God Only Knows' manga is ending

Fairy Tail the movie has been delayed by THREE months to 28th July and Jormungund volume 1 is now due out two months later on 21st July.
