I thought Negima evolved into one of the best of the weekly action shounen epics, until it crashed hard with one of the most unsatisfying endings I have ever experienced. Hopefully this one will turn out better.
To be fair that was because Kodansha was screwing both him and a lot of their authors off at that time and bombing Negima was, from what I could gather from that gigantic mess, his shot across the bow to the tune of "You motherf'ers knew I coudl do this so I'm doing it. Step the f' off!".

I believe that's part in parcel why Negima hasn't gotten a digital release as of right now.

Special Effects wise, I think he could pull of Madoka.

I also do hope that he does a version of Monster, he's one director I think that would pull it off.

Ah yeah I forgot about that, good point. Weirdly the new manga will be serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine again, so either Akamatsu has given up or Kodansha have sorted it out.

The UK release of Madoka Magica COULD have been on one disc instead of 3 16gb BD 25s - especially when the same Madman trailers are on all three discs.
Madman released it over three volumes, like Aniplex USA. Evidently the costs of completely re-authoring it for the UK outweighed the costs of printing the extra discs.

Manga have tweeted that their Blue Exorcist Definitive Collections are now blu ray only instead of a combo pack.

Wonder what brought that on.

They've gone mad with Blu-ray power?

Presumably they'll announce a DvD set only shortly. They just can't bring themselves to combo pack the UK for some reason.

Maybe they've realised that people buy Blurays for a reason and don't want the crappy DVDs.
I personally think they're releasing it as Bluray only to stop the bloody confusion surrounding it.
Who the hell thought it was a good idea to bundle sub only DVDs with a Dual Audio BD anyway?

I like to think they just ran out of spares from the first print run of Blue Exorcist DVDs to get rid of, so they just said "screw it" and left them out  Eliminating the confusion of having dual audio BDs and sub-only DVDs in one package was just a bonus.

I still find Double Plays useful for movies, when I want to watch something on my laptop and the big TV in our house isn't free, so I'm not against them. Especially since they don't usually drive up the price, or at least they're not supposed to. Plus some consumers like Double/Triple Play because they feel it adds value (or at least they did in 2010) so one could argue that it makes sense to do it from a retail point of view.

Nope I asked. Too expensive. For once the blu ray was cheaper.

I love the sound of this new Pokemon show. My God, they're doing something different to the bloody status quo. I hope it's a series and not a special, though I find it hard to believe that they'd run another series concurrent with the new X&Y anime.

I think the digital copies and dvd versions are nice freebie extra - certainly shouldn't bump up the price though - many of us can't rip a bluray to make a mobile version for ipads, laptops, or we have friends and family without bluray. I dont understand this anger against them though...

For some elaboration: "Pokémon: The Origin" is a special, not a series.

Yeah, been confirmed as a special now. Also, Red, Green, Oak, Brock and Red's Mum are confirmed characters, the video looks quite good, a bit of a different animation style to set it apart too.

I must be the only Pokémon fan NOT hyped for it.

Why not? :(

I think it'll be a nice break to get away from the monotonous rut the series has fell into and to go back to the Kanto region.

Sword Art Online to be released over four volumes in the UK:

Today saw us host the first ever (and hopefully not last) UK Anime Network Podcast LIVE at Ayacon 2013 - the show was also broadcast live over Mixlr, and contained some exciting snippets of news courtesy of distributor Manga Entertainment's Community Liasion Jeremy Graves.

The major news to come from Mr. Graves is concerning the UK release of Sword Art Online - after being announced recently, we can now confirm that the series will be released over four volumes, with the first instalment hopefully arriving in December and one volume a month released after that point.

The series will be made available in both DVD and DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack formats.
