Decided to take the plunge and book my first driving lesson today for Wednesday. Really nervous! I've never so much as sat in a drivers seat before, so it shall certainly be an experience!
I was like that when I first took mine. If your instructor is like mine then you’ll spend the majority of first lesson in a car park learning how the car works and driving round in circles.

That sounds okay to me, don't want to be let loose near any roads :p

Might be nerve wracking but just think of the end goal, driving can help give you more freedom.

Indeed! Then I can finally have the incredible financial burden of owning a car :p

I didn’t start driving on a road until my second lesson and it was going round a Close and then my instructor tricked me by telling me which turns to take until I realised I was driving us back to my house which involved a 40mph limit main road.

I had a crack at learning to drive many a year ago. Turns out I'm no good at that either!

Wishing you well. Just always keep in your mind while at the wheel: Initial-D... Initial-D... and you can't go far wrong, surely. ;)

Is there a story of utter failure there or more just a case of cars don’t suit you?
More of a case of my usual abject cack-handedness, I think! (He says with attempted humour.)

I just... don't seem to have the coordination for it. I just found it all very intimidating.

Admittedly it does seem like it’d take a fair bit of coordination. Then the patience needed for in traffic! So glad I don’t drive.
