It was on MUBI last year. I've brought a copy in the meantime.Almost forgot Tokyo Godfathers, but I don’t have a hard copy of it.
Alas I forgot to buy a copy, ah well maybe I’ll have one by next year.It was on MUBI last year. I've brought a copy in the meantime.
Due to the type of work I do I’ll be working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day night.
Well I ended up finding it on Dailymotion, so I’m watching it atm.Alas I forgot to buy a copy, ah well maybe I’ll have one by next year.
Lethal Weapon counts as a Christmas film right? I’ve never seen it to this is my excuse to remedy that!
If some of the events are based around Christmas, yes. Been a long time since I've seen it myselfLethal Weapon counts as a Christmas film right? I’ve never seen it to this is my excuse to remedy that!
It’s one of those films that’s been on my watch list for years. I actually own all four films in a set but forgot I had them for a while.
It opens with a Christmas song and is set during the Christmas season, heck Gibson’s character thwarts a drug deal at a Christmas tree place so it’s about as festive as is required for yours truly. If some of the events are based around Christmas, yes. Been a long time since I've seen it myself
It's probably more of a Christmas film than Die Hard tbh.It opens with a Christmas song and is set during the Christmas season, heck Gibson’s character thwarts a drug deal at a Christmas tree place so it’s about as festive as is required for yours truly.
They both have their place as unlikely 80’s action Christmas films. Who needs holly jolly jingles when you have a machine gun? It's probably more of a Christmas film than Die Hard tbh.
Yeah, the only thing missing from It's a Wonderful Life are a few AK47sThey both have their place as unlikely 80’s action Christmas films. Who needs holly jolly jingles when you have a machine gun?

I agree with you on that, Die Hard is the best Christmas film, though LW is still a worthy watch around the holiday season.Hmm, I feel like that's pushing it. Admittedly I haven't seen it lately, but, despite its setting, I still see Lethal Weapon as a film that coincidentally takes place at Christmas, rather than a Christmas film.
For my money, I think Die Hard just fits more. You see more of the outside world in Lethal Weapon, so it seems more grounded in reality. Die Hard's night time skyscraper feels cut off from the rest of the world; it's like a vertical fantasy land with John McClane running around it like a little boy in his pajamas who's found the toy gun he was supposed to get before Christmas Day has really arrived.
