At 1:15:27 in the stream, they do say "I believe it's Full HD." In 4:3 aspect ratio.Did I mishear or did they say that Zone of the Enders is native HD? I'll probably upgrade from my DVDs if so. It's a better series than you would expect from a 00s game spin-off, and a rare case of an anime where all the characters are adults.

Do Animeigo need a hug or something? The way the bulk of their recent licences are focusing on miserable or terminally ill children is a bit creepy.
Yes, that was the first thing that made me wonder. It's such an odd idea to pin a collection on.They have a logo (sub label??) for it:
Discotek Day live-stream announcements, some of which were exclusive to the stream and were not present at the Otakon panel. Their next live-stream is apparently going to be January.

#1 - Shin-chan: The Complete English Series
- 1992 - Shin-Ei Animation - TV Series - 78 episodes (English Adapted Version)
- Standard Definition on Blu-ray (New license)
This is the complete series collection for the Funimation English Adaptation (Funimation previously released the series on DVD, though incomplete but heavily localised for the US audience), all on SD-BD format across 2 discs. Including the many extras & outtakes from the previous DVD releases, some weren't allowed to be carried over due to licensing restrictions. English audio with English Closed Captions only. The widescreen episodes were apparently encoded in widescreen.![]()
#2 - Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro - Steelbook Edition
- 1979 - TMS Entertainment - Film
- Blu-ray (Re-release)
Another release based on the classic Miyazaki film, this time not only presented on a steelbook format but also includes a brand new English dub produced by Epcar Entertainment with the aim of being faithful to the original Japanese version and more natural sounding, featuring the cast involved with the recent dubbed Lupin releases from Discotek Media (& also Lupin Part II) including Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Michelle Ruff, Lex Lang and Doug Erholtz. This release includes the same extras featured in the previous UHD & BD releases, and the steelbook is exclusive to the Crunchyroll Store.
Extras include all three English dubs, 1979 theatrical subtitle restoration, translation notes, original trailers, interviews, feature commentary, feature-length original storyboards, deleted storyboard opening, art gallery and opening & ending credits collection. And more subject to approvals. Liner notes improved from previous releases. This release is coming in 2026.

#3 - Urotsukidoji Collection 2: Sequels of the Overfiend
- 1990-1996 - Phoenix Entertainment - Movies & OVA Series - 10 episodes & 4 films
- Standard Definition on Blu-ray (New license)
Another Hentai collection which was to be expected considering Collection 1 was labelled on their first Urotsukidoji release, but the surprise here is that the rest of the franchise is also included. This release includes every version ever released due to differences between the theatrical and OVA series.
This collection consists of:
- Legend of the Demon Womb (1990-91) - Both the two episode OVAs & theatrical film that many will be familiar with from Manga Entertainment's release, but uncut and uncensored like the US versions.
- Legend of the Demon God Urotsukidōji: The Future (1992-93) - Both the four episode OVAs & theatrical film known in the west as Urotsukidōji: Return of the Overfiend.
- Legend of the Demon God Urotsukidōji: The Wandering (1993-95) - Both the three episode OVAs & theatrical film known in the west as Urotsukidōji: Inferno Road.
- Legend of the Demon God Urotsukidōji: The Final Act (1996) - The single OVA episode also known as Urotsukidōji: The Final Chapter in the west.
- Lord of Chaos Theater V2: The Legend of Crazed Demon Beasts - A recap film.
The vintage English dubs that exist are also included here with Movie 2, OVA Series 3 and an edited OVA Series 4. Many of these versions are being released in the west for the first time.
Extras include promos, special erotic collections, extensive liner notes and more. Considered one of the most complicated discs MediaOCD have ever worked on. Sadly there's no HD masters available for the rest. Like previous adult titles, Crunchyroll Store will not list this one but it should be available via Amazon US and MediaOCD Store.

#4 - Golden Boy
- 1995 - A.P.P.P. - OVA Series - 6 episodes
- Blu-ray (Re-release)
The cult classic OVA series is finally returning to print and on Blu-ray, with both the original Japanese audio track and classic English dub. Upscaled from the original existing masters but it does look rough and blendy here and there according to the team.
Extras include an all-new commentary from Kintaro voice actor Doug Smith, who also designed the cover for this release and the ADV VHS releases.

Sunrise's frog crew returns with the films that were also released back in the day, this time in HD with Japanese stereo & 5.1 audio with English subtitles. MediaOCD mentioned the audio and video being really good and the story being solid one and done plots. Gundam also makes a cameo if that interests you.
This collection consists of:
- Keroro Gunsō the Super Movie (2006)
- Chō Gekijōban Keroro Gunsō 2: Shinkai no Princess de Arimasu! (2007)
- Keroro Gunso the Super Movie 3: Keroro vs. Keroro Great Sky Duel (2008)

#6 - Zegapain + Zegapain ADP + Zegapain STA
- 2006, 2016, 2024 - Sunrise - TV Series & Films - 26 episodes & 2 films
- Blu-ray (New license)
Another Sunrise title rescued from the failed package deal that Sentai Filmworks once had a decade ago. Mike Toole considers this the secret best anime of the 2000s. This release include both the original Japanese audio track and the classic English dub by Elastic Media. Also included is the 2016 film Zegapain ADP (a prequel film that is mostly new stuff according to the team), never before released in English but subtitled only with a new translation.
All the extras are on a disc of its own because there were so many. Another surprise and in fact this is the first for Discotek in a long while is they're also including the newest Zegapain film Zegapain STA from Sunrise that only just got released a year ago. Also subtitled only.

Originally licensed by Viz Media, the classic Naoki Urasawa anime series based on the manga is now back in print in the US and on Blu-ray for the first time. This will also include the original Japanese version and the English dub, the latter of which weirdly was not included on the Netflix stream. The dub was apparently Hulu exclusive back in the day. Currently slated for 2026 but it is early days so it'll be a while.
[From this point onwards it's all YouTube pre-record stream exclusive announcements that didn't make the panel cut, like last year]

Like the first season, the second season and the third series have also been picked up and coming back in print after Sentai Filmworks previously held the rescue license from Geneon. Both will be released separately and have drastically updated subtitles, as the previous subtitles from Sentai were stilted and not polished. In Kai's case, the video issues have also been amended and in 1080i.

OCTOBER 2025 SLATE
Also revealed is the next slate of releases scheduled for 28th October 2025. They referenced it will continue as either bi-monthly or quarterly slates, which will disappoint many but to me it allows breathing room for anyone who wants to catch up on their catalogue of releases.
