The All Purpose Mobile Suit Gundam Thread

The first part of ZZ is ****, yes, way too much toy marketing. It did get better/ darker latter on though.
Amuro is barely in Zeta, that narative isn't there that much.

If he does want to know wtf happened in the last episode of Zeta and all those cliffhangers he wil need to watch ZZ.
Also Unicorn assumes you've seen ZZ, it being an imediate sequel and sharing some characters.

I wouldn't call Unicorn an immediate sequel to ZZ, i mean it takes place 3 years after Char's Counterattack. I do know there's a few character links but still

Still after unicorn is said and done (sometime i the next two years) it would be nice if they chould either give us an animated Gundam Sentinel, or an animated Crossbone Gundam. An even, more hopeless, dream is a tomino directed remake of Char's Counterattack that follows his novel more closely Bye bye Chan, hello Betchokia or however her name is spelt

I would agree, ZZ is way too kiddy super robot at first, but some of the characters are great and the series comes together a lot more as it goes on. Still essential watching for any UC fan.

This ties up with what my Gundam-mad internet buddiez tell me. MSG is hardly a franchise of wildly erratic peaks and troughs, quality wise, in my opinion.

UK release pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaase!!!

I think a Sentinel anime is just one of those things that is never going to happen. :( Did you watch episode 2 of Unicorn yet, BW?

I think this would've been cool if it happened round about the time that Reanimation came out. As it is, it's packed with A Thousand Suns, which is just a terrible album...

That looks kinda neat, and I don't mind the gp01fb model. Bundling it with that album though is annoying since I haven't made my mind up, if it was with a single of New Divide then i would of made all haste in order to get the thing. Wish they did more with their anime fandom then this though, more homages in their videos would be awesome. I mean i loved their Breaking the Habit video.

Anyways.

Finally watched Unicorn 2. I frakking loved it. Kept up the pace from the first ep, and aside from some audio issues i had with my laptop I'm annoyed i have to wait till march for the 3rd ep. Banagher is a male lead done right.

Saw this and thought you guys would find it funny/interesting/enraging.

I find Linkin Park's existence and popularity... enraging. Yes, definitely 'enraging'.

In defence of Linkin Park, I don't begrudge them any of their Gundam related stuff, as they're obviously not just doing it to cash in on anything or for some sort of weird PR exercise. If I actually liked their music it would be a bonus, but yeah...

It would be a bonus if it came with a good album. A Thousand Suns which is what is packed in with the model is not a good album :p

Would of got me if it was the New Divide single like i said...or Meteora, mine's getting on a bit.

Funny thought, i wonder if they ever decided to try and have another go at a live action gundam movie (rest in hell G-Saviour), do you think linkin park would be on the soundtrack?

Look man, let's not give them any crazy ideas. :-/

As much as i'm ultimately looking forward to the Gaiking live action movie, and the yamato one...Agreed. Still can't believe how they managed to muck it up.

Considering they were on the soundtrack for both Transformers films, I don't see why not. That being said, it doesn't mean that either the film or song would be good :p

You knew it wasn't going to work as soon as they didn't put "Gundam" in the title and had so much American involvement, tbh. It's like it was designed not to work from the get-go. Yamato, though, I am also quite looking forward to.

Y'know, I live in hope of seeing a really good live action Gundam movie one day. I reckon it could be done, and it'd make for a KICK ASS cinema experience. It'd just be a bit of a risk.

That's me being optimistic.

Yeah, I don't think we'll see one like that, they make another go of it, my mind will just tell me its G-Saviour 2...

I don't even really *want* to see one, good or otherwise. Animation is an exceptional medium for SF, I don't see what benefits live action would bring to Gundam.
