We've changed a couple of the categories, but the main difference between this nomination stage and the final voting stage in a couple of weeks will be that the "best company" (Best Distributor, Best Streaming Platform, etcetera) awards will be in the final voting stage but aren't in the nomination stage, as we can just include all of them in the final voting without needing to create a shortlist.

Yuru Camp-in the end this won out, the more I thought about it the more I had a fondness for it. Think I’ll rewatch this soon actually. (Hozuki 2 is Runner-up.)

N/A-haven’t seen enough of this years selection to give a fair vote.

Harukana Receive- they really made the sport feel alive and vibrant.

Hozuki’s Coolheadness 2nd Season-each episode felt unique and bizarrely original

Best New Girl:
Kaos from Comic Girls-more of a sympathy vote because of how relatable a character who always fails is. She’s also cute and has a cat that wears a hat, so that’s a plus.

Best New Boy:
Sugimoto from Golden Kamuy-this guy is awesome, plus he’s voiced by Ian Sinclair in the dub so that’s a bonus!
Shame there was no worst categories, would have been interesting to see the other side of the spectrum in terms of people’s thoughts on 2018 in anime.

Well I completely forgot that Pop Team Epic had a great OP. Ah well. For best home media release I might have put GITS: SAC on there but I recall there were some on disc issues that were corrected for the SE release but UE owners weren’t offered a replacement scheme iirc. Rest of the set was good though so maybe it counts as a runner up.
