Well, I earn a bit more than when I used to work as a project coordinator in Contracts, Conferences and Marketing... that said, I live in the Cambridge area, so white collar salaries are fairly high, though nowhere near as high as London.

But I do have to work quite long and unsociable hours at times, cos I'm a freelancer, and sometimes have to travel (to the US and beyond it seems) to give talks and stuff. I would average around 40-45 hrs a week. Sometimes I work up to 60 hrs if there's an evil deadline.

Earn enough for me to spend shitloads on brand loli dresses and videogames, and then to starve when I need to send in my tax return XD
Waaaah! You make me so jellious.... :p I've got nothing better to do, so the hours aren't bad for me.
Well, glad you're doing well. :)

Argh, don't be jealous please, I wasn't trying to boast, just giving an indication of earnings to the guy who asked the question ^_^;;

I use various different programs. Some of what you've seen is natural media (so stuff like Copic or Letraset markers, or just fineliner ink work). But my favourite program to use is Photoshop. That said, Photoshop has it's bad points, so I often use it in combination with other programs like Painter, Illustrator or Deleter Comicworks.

Just noticed this thread in relation to the anime expo one.

So how much do you usually charge for say a normal manga comic, for example your Romeo and Juliet manga. Do you do everything yourself? creative design etc

I'm always looking to take on a project in the summer, i think i may have found one.

Wow... Just... Wow. I dont have to patience to improve my drawing, which is a pitty because I used to be fairly good. Keep up the good work though.

Ahh, I had no idea that you draw.

You should post some of your drawings sometime. :p

Nah, no scanner, plus my stuff pretty much blows, I only do weird eye drawings (and I mean weird) and weapon designs (swords, axes but no guns, can never get the perspective right)

I see...

In year 7 I just used to draw gunblades, guns, fantasy like swords etc

Seriously, my textbooks = thousands of swords throughout.

LMFAO.

How did that conversation go?

Ah, full length graphic novels have different pay rates than one off illustrations. Costs go up if I lose any form of copyright, costs can go down if I get royalties/am allowed to profit from them by selling prints, big payouts for books often are considered an advance on royalties, and you get paid more once your books past a certain number. It's a like a minefield! XD

A comic page can costs anywhere from £10 through to £100! It really depends on the scale and ownership of the project.

McIcy, I got sent to the counselor for drawing porn when I was younger XD Wasn't allowed to read it, but I could sure as hell draw it

I see, I'm still interested in taking up something possibly a small chapter/couple of chapters in manga form for some stories i have. Nothing on the full scale professional but some rough art and concept drawings, that kind of thing if you get where i'm coming from.

Anyway i'm sure we can discuss this later, it's all on the backburner for now and i can see your busy but i might get in touch at a later date.

I iz back

Hullos again. Just wanted to post some more artsies I've done over the past month. I'll spread em out a bit so there's something new to see every few days.

Here's something I did for Sweatdrop's 5th birthday. It's Briony, one of the main characters from my Sweatdrop series "Once Upon a Time..." with Sueto-chan, the studio's mascot.

That is seriously good.
Looks utterly proffesional.
And the charachter has a really "nice" soft look to her.
You really know how to colour.
Keep up the great work.;)

I think my jaw just hit the floor, that is amazing, I am loving the colour and attention to detail.

One of the best pieces of work I have seen displayed here

Im probably being very very picky here, but I do feel the left hand to too thin or too long. Other than that its beautiful, I love the colours used and the shading is amazing too.
