So what’s your MyAnimeList statistics?

I'm my defense I did stop using MAL for about 5 years then only started using it again about 6 months ago (had some free time..........)
Damn, I didn't realise how many shows I've got on hold 😳

Hey, my affinity with all... five of my friends went up when I updated my list. Were you all bitterly disappointed when Taimanin Asagi 2 didn’t feature any Oboro action as well?

Been a slower year for me thus far as I've focused on 3 100 eps plus shows but I'm trying to take a more chilled approach this year after hitting my personal goal of 80 shows in one year in 2020. Trying to get to stuff I've put off for far too long. Should still hit 1700 in 2021 which is wild to me.

Mean scores are down, not by much on anime, but by a whopping .50 for manga! Probably because I've started reading stuff where I haven't seen an anime adaptation, mostly because there isn't one, so I'm going in blind.

Affinity wise my top 3 (cutting people who haven't been on there in an age) are now:
@Stiivun 50.5%
@HWR 48.3% (500 shared exactly!)
@NormanicGrav 46.6%

@Neil.T continues his slide down to 16.8%, probably due to his low score on a certain space based series 😜 I actually dropped my score for that show by 1 point as well, but is still high.
But you still have work to do as a couple of new players have entered the fray:
@Lordhippos is on 7.8%. Mostly even scores, but a fair few where I scored high and they scored low, the most egregious being High Score Girl with 8 vs 2! And:
@Vincentdante is on 4.6%. Again quite even apart from our relative scores on Baccano and we only share 67 anime. So if I'd done this a month ago it might have been different.

I found my first Affinity on the manga side, but only 11 shared where we both scored them so the Affinity is at 4.6% with @st_owly (witch)

I need more people with manga on their MAL. Do @Demelza, @Dai, @WMD, @RadFemHedonist and @setokaiba have MALs or similar for manga/LN?

My harem has changed. I had to put Marin Kitagawa in after watching My Dress-Up Darling, it was tough but I cut San from Princess Mononoke.

I do not because I use Anime Planet instead. MAL is actually really bad for keeping their manga entries updated or adding new series, especially stuff that might not be licensed so I prefer A-P since they almost always have what I want or will very quickly add/update on request. :)

Updated stats for me! Manga reading number might be a little out because I forget to mark things dropped if I was on the fence about them at the time of marking the entry, but around 450 probably is accurate… I’m waiting for the day the read count surpasses anime and/or hits 4 figures!

OK so I have a lot more anime on there than manga and LNs but at least there's something there to compare and contrast with :) It occurs to me that I could probably stand to update my dropped series section as that gives a bit more insight into what I didn't like. I'll add my MAL to my signature as well :)

Yeah I do need to update some of my scores XP But the thing with manga is if I don't like it I am unlikely to finish it, like if something can hold my attention for a lot of volumes and I actually finish it prob means I absolutely loved it :)

Ah, those were the anime scores. We've only got 2 manga we've both scored, All You Need is Kill and A Silent Voice and I think it needs at least 10.
There's 4 we both have but not scored by both of us Akira, Nausicaa and Yotsuba&! (I know it's not done, but thought I'd give it a score anyway) you've not scored and I haven't scored Monster because I've only read the first volume so far.

CGI doesn't bother me unless truly woeful, see EX-Arm, which I didn't even bother with, and Gibiate. Also I'm guessing you're probably younger than me, but I was about the same age as the characters at the time the anime was set and although most of the games they played weren't games I played, some I recognise and I get the gamer frame of mind learning tactics, getting real competitive with friends, etc.

Yes, dropped it!

I get the impression a lot of us here are older than your regular anime fan to be honest, all of us old people remembering the good old times when TV's were CRT's and the internet didn't exist yet. Later when it did exist, we got our anime with fan translations only.

My first console was a SNES, and I can still fondly recall the screech of the 56k modem as it connects. Downloading warez from IRC and hoping that song you downloaded from Kazaa wasn't porn (or maybe secretly hoping it was porn ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)).

I'm 33 and my dad was a fairly early tech adapter who made sure my first DVD player was multi-region, partly so I could import anime from the US, so I'm kind of somewhere in the middle between older and younger gen fans in that sense I think? :)
