Vacancy 6/10

Good but very predictable (i mean so predictable i knew the whole plot by the time they got to the hotel.)

Hellboy 2 8/10

Very good and was a great mix of Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth (both by the same director).

Crank 7.5/10

What can you say about a film where the main character dies if his adrenaline drops, grabs his girlfriend in a crowded market place, does her up against a post to a cheering crowd, and then has a busload of Japanese schools pull up to be shocked at him.....

You know there's gonna be a sequel.

I only watched Crank because I heard it was good when people talked about the sequel, although admittedly....how the HELL you survive what he does at the end is a mystery to me.

Hellboy II - 8.5/10

Good fun, brilliant visuals and storytelling. Del Toro's status as a great director is well deserved.

Babylon AD - 3/10 - three points for Michelle Yeoh and one decent action scenes, evrything else is pure failure... they try too much in such a little time, that it's not fun..

Dark Knight - 9/10 - It's and awesome movie and it's the best super hero movie yet. Heath Ledger is really brilliant as usual, but I think it was a bit overrated by his death.

Get Smart - 10/10 - I used to watch a re-run of this series when I was a kid, it was really fun and them this movie captures the spirit of the series and does a nice re-vamp of it. WARNING - my opinion is biased by nostalgia, but still, it's the movie that made me laugh the most this year.

Get Smart - 7/10

Funny moments, was okay
I loved get smart.... but like I said, nostalgia biased opinion as I used to watch the original series.

Be kind rewind - 7 / 10 pretty good for a Jack Black movie.
The Hogfather - 8 /10 Terry Pratchett ftw!!! I believe I gave 8 to this because of Susan...

The Strangers 6/10
Some definite tense moments in this slashers flick. A real plus is the fact that the main protagonists aren't complete idiots i.e try phones, camping, long-wave radio, car. But the killers still maintain the upper hand however they are alone in a house in the middle of nowhere!and split up a few times!! Yeah some definite jumps in this film, but a short running time and wierd ending sour it.

Enchanted - 8/10

What can I say? It's such a feel good film. Sure, it's disney, I will probably get stoned for mentioning it. Yet there's something that makes you feel good about the world with Enchanted...

Really interesting concept but something about it grated on me slightly.....I think it may hae been the fact that it alternated between mocking the Disney Princess style, and keeping in tone with it.

Also the fact that some parts were written with an agenda in mind.....but I digress. I felt it was a bit of an "insert tab A into Slot B" kind of film, it existed, there was no real flair....but at least it got the job done. 6/10 film for me.

Do most people hae a thing against Disney round here, though? I mean, I'm a 24 year old man, comfortably as far away from metrosexuality as is possible (Try and get me to exfoliate and just see how quickly how I hurt you) and I still cry like a little baby girl at Dumbo.

Haha I was more meaning the whole "Disney = western = inferior to Anime!" school of thought. Not sure what people on here actually do think about Disney.. would be interesting to find out
