I liked her because she makes fun of the fact that she is blind.
Then boy are you going to enjoy watching her come unglued in Season 3.
That would be Ethan Spaulding, and this is also one of my favourite episodes, with its parody of the WWE. The references here certainly cater more for the adults than the kids. I mean, the kids may pick up that the promoter is modeled after Vince McMahon, and that The Boulder is a poorly disguised reference to The Rock, and the significance of his VA, Mick Foley, won't fly over their heads. But I doubt any twelve-year-old will ever pick up the Nikolai Volkoff reference.

Samurai 7 - 9/10
Brilliant. Loved all the main cast especially Kikuchiyo. Music score was excellent, although the opening theme didn't really fit in my opinion. Also the CG was quite poor but then it was Gonzo. Anyway nothing can spoil how good a series this is, it has such a good story, not bad for my first purchase on AOL DOTW.

Coicent/Five Numbers
In the midst of titles spanning hundreds of episodes going nowhere slowly, you really have to admire the one-off titles such as these two that in a limited run-time (both are under 30 minutes) can fit in a compelling set-up, climax and denouement and not feel rushed. That they both also exhibit some pleasant quirks can also count as a bonus. Coincent for instance plays out as a romance with a synthetic idol and a herd of deer - one voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi - added to the mix. In Five Numbers it's a question of finding out how five seemingly unrelated individuals ended up in their current predicament. Neither story is particularly original, but the joy to be had here is in how such stories normally expected to be told in thirteen episodes, twenty six episodes, or even more, can be condensed into a single episode without compromise.
The two titles may be considered experiments or side projects, but even so they succeed in their goals most admirably.

Magical Girl
Tiger & Bunny-A series that does not pretend to be anything but what it says on the tin and that is a big,loud and fun super hero adventure,there are lots of fun characters on offer but this show is all about the leading two men and also the mysterious vigilante Lunatic(who has spin off series written all over him),not much to really say apart from that it does what is does very,very well and is one of the best series i,ve seen in recent years,everything from the animation to the music was top notch and there is something for everybody here and i cant really think of any reason why anyone would not fall in love with the series,it may not have one original bone in its body but i think that is maybe its greatest asset,to many shows in recent years try to be smart and surreal and to be honest most of those shows have there heads so far up there own arse they end up putting most people off so it is good to see a good old fashioned big brash fun series that is only there to entertain and at the end of the day that is what it is all about.9/10.

Pretty damned good, a ex biker tries to become a salaryman because he made a promise to his dying wife to raise there son right and he was the leader of thousands of bikers which everyone looked up too, now hes a salaryman and as some people might know salarymen are dull and boring but somehow they made them somewhat bad ass in a way or two,
But it's one coincidence after another with this series and lady luck must be in love with kintaro because he has a loooooooooooooT or luck

Street Fighter II: The Movie (blu-ray) 8/10
I absolutely Love the classics, old school animation, they just don't make em like this anymore. 1st thing, the transfer is unbelievable, I put the DVD on aswell and if anyone wants to see the difference between Blu-ray and DVD you can't get a better example. They've done a brilliant job. Although I will say the DVD transfer isn't as good as what you'd get with anime of today.
Now to the dub, in all honesty I only noticed once before the big showdown at the end that the dub was edited, Vega called Chun Li a witch, pretty sure you can guess what it was substituted for. The best one though was when M Bison grabs Ken and says 'You worthless pile of excrement' LMAO.
All in all the edited dub didn't bother me too much as I couldn't remember it enough from the last time I watched it but I just hope they don't do it again, coz some of the classics wouldn't be the same without it.
Now I just need to follow this with another old school classic

Patlabor OVA - 8/10
Taken as part of the broader Patlabor franchise, the original OVA series is a highlight, with Oshii and Kazunori Ito working the same magic they did on Urusei Yatsura. It's a genuinely funny show in which the character bounce off one another. Taken in isolation it falls a bit short since it doesn't have the scope to fully develop the characters and setting, nor fully explore some of the ideas (labor crime, corporate warfare, use of labors in the military). The more serious two-part story about a terrorist attack in a snowy Tokyo seems like a practice run for the second movie, again the lack of run time working against it because we never even find out what the terrorists' motivation was - just that Goto was once acquainted with their leader.
The animation veers between some of the best you'll see in an OVA from that period to stills of off-model characters, but all of it looks amazingly vibrant thanks to the new video transfer. Really pleased to finally have this to round out my Patlabor collection.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Hell no!!...was what I said when I saw how much Aniplex was making the US retailers charge for the blu-ray release of this title. $70, MRSP? For each of three discs containing four episodes? You’re joking right? You can get at least one entire series on blu-ray for that kind of money without even looking hard. And that’s before we get to the Limited Editions…
Thank you then UK anime market, for allowing sanity to prevail in the pricing of this title’s blu-ray.
So that’s the story of the purchase, but what of the viewing? For that only four words need suffice: “Just one more episode.”
For starters, the visuals are superb with their stark and surreal settings. The witches and their mazes too are clearly the products of one too many psychedelic experiences. In a good way, of course; in fact, in the best possible way. The animation is solid and consistent throughout the series, a perfect foil for the vivid visuals. The music is mesmerising, perfectly defining a vast spectrum of moods and emotions.
But the writing…oh, the writing. Complex, yet still accessible. With a depth of character that defies all expectation, even after you’ve seen the cover with its incongruous combination of cutesy magical girls and the 15-rating. There’s an organic, unrushed, unpredictable feel to the story, as all actions bring about unexpected consequences – the principal of cause and effect proves to be a major theme throughout the story – and characters are left to deal with such consequences. And as for the ending, again all I can say is “Wow”.
In summing this up. Puella Magi Madoka Magica kept me on edge throughout its running time. Not for one second was I less than completely engrossed by the story. Best of all, after the final episode I was left with a hollow feeling within, a sense of sadness that I’ll never be able to watch it for the first time ever again. This show deserves 10/10, but there's more to it than just that. Truly it represents a new watershed moment; future magical girl shows will be influenced by this and all such shows will now be classified pre-Madoka and post-Madoka.
There still is one negative, and to explain I must revisit the US Limited Editions. They are just chock-full of bonuses that I truly desire. The music cd’s alone are tempting me, but $75 (and that’s after the discount) each for three blu-rays? Not even the best show in the world can be worth this asking price.

As for me I enjoyed it alot and is the only romance anime I like the anime adaption had a one flaw, the scenes that went no where and was just filler like when they was practicing with there play, it felt like filler,

Given the incredibly variable quality of current US BD releases, that's very reassuring to hear. I look forward to picking this up when I uh, actually have money again. As far as I know/can tell there's absolutely nothing wrong with the disc from a technical perspective (except for the subtitles being a bit too big, but YMMV). The transfer itself definitely shows its age, but I think that's part of the charm. Old anime in HD is the best anime in HD. Look at dat lovely grain in these screenshots.

Amagami SS (2010)
Fairly standard romance series, slightly enlivened by its game-like structure.
While it occasionally moves into rather... unexpected territory, Amagami seems determined to avoid anything too much outwith its comfort zone. Most, if not all, of the characters seem to be mired in a personal crisis that might have made for interesting viewing, but the series ultimately glosses over all of them, favouring a much more conventional outcome each time it hits the end of an arc.
The decision to effectively hit the reset button every four episodes (as opposed to combining all paths from the source VN into one story) is probably the most interesting feature of the show, creating some amusing moments as we gain greater knowledge of what's happening to characters who previously remained in the background. Unfortunately, this isn't The World God Only Knows or The Tatami Galaxy, so don't expect any wry comment on repeating one's-self.
This isn't an unpleasant series, but it's unambitious, dull in the middle and ultimately rather unsatisfying. I wouldn't run screaming from the room if it was on, but it's not the sort of thing I'd suggest anyone go actively looking for.
