Hmm, interesting. I had been intending to give Dougram a go once I've finished Votoms, but if you say there's no filler, I might try Galient instead.

Appleseed OVA

Overall I thought this as a neat little piece, good plot, excellent artstyle and likeable characters.

My main gripe though is that Manga seems to have been lazy with the subtitless, at first I though it was them omitting parts of the Japanese track, but when I watched it again in English, the script for the dub matches the subtitles EXACTLY, which has left me confused somewhat, and has left me wondering if the Japanese track has problems or if the English dub has added new dialogue and the dialogue is in fact considerably longer than the Japanese track, or both, because of this the dub seemed to be more coherent and enjoyable, shame on you Manga, shame on you.

Ah. the dark old days of Manga Video. Appleseed was from when Manga used to dub anime in the mid nineties. It's also when they wanted the controversy of profanity, sex and violence to get their titles onto the pages of the Daily Fail. It's when shows would get fifteened, their dubs laced with f-ing and blinding to get the BBFC to up the rating. Appleseed is one of those shows.

I guess putting dubtitles on the disc when it came to releasing it on DVD, saved them the money of getting the actual Japanese dialogue translated.

It sucks, true. But at least the disc has a commentary worth listening to.

Proper Subs would've been much better, half the conversations in the dub don't take place in the original Japanese track (which must definitely be the case), so I'm left with a screen full of subs without anyone actually saying anything, I could smell inaccuracy all over the subs when "yatta" was translated as "bullseye", it reminds me strongly of DEJAP's translations, especially their one for Tales of Phantasia.

I'll probably watch it dubbed from now on, it's alright acting, also, who the hell names their son Karen? He must've seriously gotten the piss taken out of him growing up!

Noir

Finished the series this morning, and I have to say the series was brilliant. I loved every moment of Noir and definitely a series that kept me on the edge of my seat. Plus the soundtrack and characters was awesome

your probably right but.........................some of us likes that sort of thing *confessed *

Is it a series about the Buddha resisting all the temptations around him; which includes busty girls, moe girls, tsunderes and all that jazz, while still being the badass buddha?

Otherwise, bleh.

That's the US title for the series, and nothing to do with the Japanese title of the show. The US licensor was riffing off Ah My Goddess (sort of like a lot of actual hentai companies do now I think of it).

Mixing perversion and ascetics seems to be a bit of a comedy staple.

Ah I see, I suspected that may be the case, seriously though what kind of fool thought that would be an appropriate name?

Eden of the East movie 2-Paradise Lost-A good conclusion to the whole story and well written but like the first movie i think it lacked the pace and tension of the tv series, the two movies both seemed to just plod along to much and sometimes i lost interest,it would have been better if they maybe made a second season as even after watching the two movies it still feels like there is so much left unsaid and somewhat wasted potential, but overall two great movies but not as good as the series which is a classic but i admire Kenji Kamiyama for creating such an ambitious project that has a lot to say just slightly let down by the two feature movies.I,ll give both movies a solid 7/10

Soul Eater

Just finished the second BD set and this has been a very solid and constantly enjoyable show. I enjoyed the main characters throughout and the style and animation of the show was a pleasure to behold.

My only qualms with the show is that it lulls a bit in the second half (probably 26-38) as Arachne, mosquito, giriko and Arachnaphobia are just completely awful but overall the last dozen or so episodes redeems everything.

I'd give it a solid 8/10

Morita-san wa Mukuchi 'episodes' 1-6

If you ever wanted to know what I'm like in real life; Morita-san is the cute anime girl version of me - especially in episode 5 (for example, my Mum is the only one who really knows when I want something).

Although short (advert lengths equals show length), I am finding this series very cute. It doesn't any obvious jabs at humour like say, Nichijou does, but it has it's subtlety which I really like. For 3 minutes long, it's also a nice way to kill time.
