Deadman Wonderland 8/10
When I first got into anime, this kind of thing was right up my street. Lots of violence, blood & swearing. Turns out it still is. Was much better than I expected. I'd also expected an abrupt ending but that wasn't the case. It doesn't finish everything off and needs another 12 eps or so to finish it off but it was a decent place to end it. I'd been expecting a Berserk style ending but thankfully it wasn't.

Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning 7/10
I felt a little let down by this. IMO the opening episode of the series is one of the best opening episodes I've seen, its was flash, exciting & funny but I felt due to the added scenes (backstory) it kinda lost something that made it so exciting to watch, plus I felt it seemed rushed (due to the backstory been crammed in) and kind of spoilt it for me. I would still recommend the series to anyone but tell them to watch this after, as I feel it has more time to say hey look at this (in your face) then tell the backstory. TBH if I watched it again I' probably just skip it to the new stuff as it was pretty good, and the new bad guy was pretty cool. Looking forward to Rising though, can't wait.

Irresponsible Captain Tylor (Season 1) 8.5/10
I remember when I really wanted to see this show and then found out a bit more about it and thought nah its not for me. Fortunately Manga Entertainment added it to their youtube channel sometime ago and I was looking for something to watch whilst I soaked in the tub. It also had a good reputation behind it. Well the more I watched, the more I enjoyed it. What a charming character the irresponsible captain was. The thing that had originally put me off was the comedy, its not often anime makes me laugh but this did and to add to that, ep 23 was so intense I was on the edge of my seat. I'm still not sure if Captain Tylor is an idiot or a genius and that's part of the beauty of the show, add to that the other characters, not 1 was boring, not 1 felt unimportant. By the later stages of season 1 I'd gone from watching the occasional episode in the bath to watching a few episodes on the TV via my PS3. Thoroughly enjoyed the series and I'm gonna start on Series 2 tonight with its mammoth 1hr 30min ep. Can't wait.

Rewatched:

Castle in the Sky - 9.5/10 - Still my fave Ghibli movie
Spirited Away 9/10 - 3rd time I've watched and enjoyed it the most, always liked it but loved it this time
Ponyo 8.5/10 - 2nd watch - another one I enjoyed more this time
Princess Mononoke 7.5/10 - Strangely didn't enjoy this one as much this time around. Not sure why, just didn't.

Jormungand

Ummmm

I didn't like this series.

Because when I was going to watch this i was expected something like black lagoon and in a way I did...just not as good.

The series felt rushed in places and koko is reallllllllllllly annoying to me anyways.

I didn't get that vide where I watch something and thought * oh this is good in its own way so il give it a high score* but in this case it gets a low score.

The pay off is bad
The characters are annoying
The story .....similar to black lagon but not as good.

It's not a bad series but it didn't do anything for me and it would just .......well how should I put this...

Out of nowhere soneone calls her a monster but we don't go any further in that direction.......something like that.

6/10

The Future Diary (and Reload OVA)

I wouldn't rewatch the series without the OVA, so I've grouped them together. Started off very tense and creepy with some horror elements. Well paced to start with, though some of the Diary holders do end up lacking in development. Kept me intrigued and hooked though throughout even if there were some minor annoyances.

I'd say a good to pretty good show, so 7/10.

One Piece: Collection 11

Good combination of action & humour, after a slight lull a little while back the show seems really seems back on track. This current arc is much more interesting than the Skypiea one, which really dragged in parts & had quite a tedious main villain. In fact of all the arcs I've seen so far I'd rate it the poorest.

9/10

One piece movie 7 and 8

The first movie I watched was about the retelling of alabaster which was good but I already saw this arc in its full glory.

8/10

The second movie was more of a long episode then a movie....

The crew goes on this island theres a mystery ect ect.

Again it was more of a longer episode then anything else.

8/10

Bleach movie 3 - Fade To Black

7.5 / 10

I was left sincerely underwhelmed by the first two Bleach movies - sure it was nice to finally see some Bleach in full HD (the series has always felt a little underdone when it comes to production values), but the plotting and general storylines on the first two movies felt like complete wastes with none of the gravitas of the series itself.

Thankfully, the third movie feels like a major improvement, with genuine scale - and while it's not canon, feels like it adds significant heft to Rukia's backstory to. The final 30 minute showdown with all the captains looks incredible too - which is pretty much what you want from Bleach.

Yugioh season 1

Ok this series brings back memories .....I remember my first episode of this series....kiba vs yugi in duelist kingdom with his blue eyes ultimate dragon.....at first I thought it was weird but gradually got in to it.

The duel with weevil
The duel with kiba
Pegasus

Even tho there playing with rules that isn't part of the real rules it's still fun to watch.

I do feel that it was rushd in the beginning tho

I think it holds up but it would of been nice to have the uncut version.....I mean come on look at this

http://youtu.be/CYjJCnc6X1U

Oh how rude they are pointing at me.

Yeah pointing is a threat in this series lol.

But the best season of this series is about to begin in the next season...

Fun to watch if your a fan of the game

If your not then its not for you but if you are interested in the game....the best season is the battle city arc.

8/10…………………as a fan.

As a non fan probably 5/10

Yeah, as someone who used to play, it frustrated me how fast and loose they played with the 'real' rules. It was confusing.

That said, I enjoyed the first season a lot more than I thought I would. It says a lot for the show that even considering how 'bloated' it is in a Shonen/loads of episodes sort of way, the energy it maintains across the story arcs is impressive.

That said, the single greatest thing about Yu-Gi-Oh as a series is the backchat between the players as they battle - some of the insults are eye-wateringly cheesy in the English dub (I'm looking at you, Joey Wheeler)

Also, any-time anyone says 'deck' has me teetering like a school-boy. I can't help it.

High school dxd season 2

I mentioned this before....

I hate the main protagonist in this series...

His a perv
A racist......towards fallen angles even when there are some good ones.
He makes a fool out of him self.

I dont like him at all.

Besides that

The fan service was pretty good
The story is somewhat interesting
The characters I have issues with.
The animation good.

I do have issues with this series but it's not a bad series.

8/10

Garden of sinners movie 1

Well I heard that this had nice visuals but this was not just nice but really nice, the animation was so so so so.......I don't know a word to describe it but has nice details and dark colours.

The characters.......I don't know anything about them yet ....Maybe in the later movies up get to know them.

The story......I didn't know what was going on, I wasn't introduced to the charecters and didn't know there back story or how it all fits in the story but again I'll have to see what happens in the next movies but as a stand alone it doesn't hold up alone but if it's a continuation then il fully understand it. But it is good so far.

The music...omg beautiful

Animation beautiful
The music beautiful

The story......not enough to go along with what's really going on but again up have to see the other movies to see what's what but it's worth the watch.

Charecters...not much development and all there is is talking

Yeah same writer but the tsukihime anime butchered source material. Knk was a novel series in 1998 (kinda like prototype to tsuki in some ways with a lot of elements shared like main characters names and character designs which is similar across all type moon stuff), tsuki was a 5 route vn in 2000 and fate/stay night was 2004 with 3 routes (zero was LNs around 2006/2007 I think). Ufotable are the only ones who can do good type moon adaptations.

Boogiepop Phantom (Review)

WQw8SBx.png
The brain is a microcosm creating its own stories. People then live out these stories.
Boogiepop Phantom is a fascinating show. One packed with horror, conspiracies and the supernatural. At its core however is a very human story, a story filled with characters that are tangible, strangely relatable and most importantly genuine.

This is a show that revolves around an urban legend, one in which school kids go missing and are brutally murdered by an unknown force, Boogiepop. Each episode centers on a different set of characters that all occupy the same world and each of these episodes focuses on a different event that somehow revolves around the opening moments that take place within the first 5 minutes of the very first episode. In taking this approach the director shows his confidence in his storytelling as everything entwines to create a truly compelling show. This is a show that is truly riveting in its storytelling as it keeps its lips sealed. You are thrown into the deep end, but if you stick with it, if you are truly interested in finding out more about the Boogiepop Phantom, you will be rewarded with an amazing audio/visual experience. Boogiepop Never Laughs.

The past will often attack the present with the pain of your memories.
Audio is king in Boogiepop Phantom. Sound is used in order to construct an atmosphere that can only be described as unsettling and unnerving but full of life. The show in its presentation can be intimidating as pin drop silent scenes turn into ear deafening distortions at a click of a finger. It’s not only exhilarating but exciting. From drum & bass to electro-boogie to Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. The soundtrack in this show is a feast for the ears. This approach was utilized in Lain and it works phenomenally here. All of this accumulates together to create an intimate experience, one in which you have to use not just your eyes, but also your ears in order to survive. The story is told through its sound. You can’t run from Boogiepop.

A VHS washed-out visage covers the screen as the show makes use of a muted palette of colors. The show looks sublime and for something that came out in the year 2000, it looks fresh and exciting, which is a funny juxtaposition to the on paper, in theory dull palette. Characters look distinct even though the show doesn’t make use of designs that are exaggerated. ブギーポップは笑わない

Time does not exist. Only the illusion of memories exist.
The show should not be seen as just a bona fide horror romp. This show evokes every emotion imaginable. My heart sank, I shed tears, I smirked, I was happy and I was sad. Disgust, anger and confusion, words that accurately describe the full gamut of emotions that I felt during the shows welcomed 12 episode run. I felt emotions that I didn’t expect to feel watching Boogiepop Phantom. But it’s not just the variety but the ferocity displayed in how the show hits you with these emotions. One moment in particular had me with tears and a smile on my face during the majority of the episode only for it to vanish entirely in a matter of seconds as I sat gazing at the screen in shock. Expect to be shocked, Boogiepop works in mysterious ways.

Pure perfection has no past. That is how you live perfectly.
In the end this is a show that surprised me in ways in which I hadn’t contemplated prior to my viewing. It was without doubt an experience that I will never forget. Boogiepop is a show that looks like no other, and one that plays like no other. Expect to smile, to cry, to scratch your head in confusion, to understand everything completely and to understand nothing during its 12 episode run. But most importantly, expect Boogiepop Phantom.

"How can you say you are a phantom?"

So far I like the first movie because of its gorgeous animation.....not that the second doesn't have gorgeous animation but the first does it so much better.

On the other hand the second movie has charecters and character development and character backgrounds which the first lacked....it kinda reminds my of that little series

1 second per meter.....or something like that...I can't remember the title.

First one has the mystery and thriller and psychology with awesome animation.

The second also has mystery but it kinda reminds me of prefect blue in a way and has charecters which I said earlier.

So far so good

Don't put yourself down like that! I don't think you're too stupid to understand it, the show just takes a huge amount of concentration is all. It is very confusing but that is often the beauty of shows that don't explain everything at face value. You tend to find your own meaning through the audio and visuals. Its almost therapeutic :p If it's not your type of show, that's fine! I didn't like Gurren Lagann all that much for example, but loved shows like Texhnolyze and Lain. That's the great thing about anime, something for everyone :) If you do give it another go down the line that would be awesome, but don't feel discouraged if you 'don't get it'. I find that exact feeling of being confused to be enlightening and fun to experience.

5 cm per second. they are very different but the similarities are quite striking now that you point it out.

Thanks I have a habit of putting my self down ( *to my self* love your self more freak love your self more)

I'm not saying it's bad......actually I loved minds f***s.

Lain I didn't get but it was a great mind f*** lain is unique and I might just watch that again.....If I have the time.

Pop phantom is also unique but again I have no idea what the hell was going on and we dont see bogey till the 3rd half.....I think it's kinda like paranoia agent in away.......think about all these characters have there problems in one way or another and something happens to them.........minus little slugger......actually I think this is where paranoia agent got its idea from if you look carefully.

Also yeah I lack concentration...I have to watch something 3-5 times to get what's going on....

Like baccono we go back and forth in the past and future but after seeing it so many times ( which was worth it) I finally got what was going on.

I like anime that doesn't give you face value ...I mean sometimes I do and sometimes I like getting straight answers but there are times that if a show leave it up to the viewers on what happened or let's us make up our own minds then its great as well as straight answers........

It all depends on the situation of the show really.

Texhnolyze was depressing as hell....excuse my language but even tho it's a mind f*** anime I was so depressed after watching this I watched lucky star 3 times straight to get over it.

Might I suggest you watch orgo proxy..........If that's how you spell it...It's similar to Texhnolyze and is close to a mind f*** anime.

Thanks a bunch dude
