From The New World

From The New World is a series with it all: students, conspiracy, Hanazawa Kana, gore, expository dialogue galore, suspense, ham-fisted romance, mole rats, poorly presented moral ambiguity, and much more! That is all.

7/10 - Bonobos.

I have to admit, beyond the chilling sci-fi world-building, the thing that really stuck with me about this show was the shamelessly yuri romance, just because it seemed completely unabashed in presenting it in a normalised sense - which actually felt quite admirable. It was like in this world, gender didn't really exist anymore.

Patema Inverted

Really nice movie. Great to look at with good animation and a great score. Likeable characters and an interesting world.

Can't wait to dive in to the artbook and short story now.

8/10

aracana famigila

Ok when I was reading the case on this series I was thinking I was going to get something like battle royal.......dear God how disappointing was this.........

There is nothing new about this series......

Nothing about the contracted cards or where they came from

Nothing

It was boring

But those thighs was sexy tho 8/10

Series 6/10

Devil survivor 2

Ok I haven't played the game.

When this started out I was expecting a survival anime but what I got wasa survival and a evangalian, HOTD and persona 4this series isn't original that's for sure and its message about friendship an helping people out is something we have seen before.

But this series reminds me of K the series the backgrounds and animation looks so brilliant.

The characters aren't interesting.

But despite it being something I see in most anime.....I find this series very enjoyable.......sure it could of been better and original which would of been nice but this is decent too

8.5/10

Man talk about something that had nothing going on in it.

The characters are uninteresting.
The story goes nowhere and it has a cliffhanger.

Some say devil survivor was bad but this is worse in my.opinion.

fully, Good Luck Girl 7/10 Funny, with multinational relevant jokes but just too short

still watching, fairy Tail, 8.5/10 sometimes a little cheesy but the characters are endearing and over 100+ episodes you gain a good bond with them. The show also has a tendency to just rip out my heart from straight out of the blue.

I know
And
I know

That's weird, I can't post in the viewing journal thread. Work blocks it lol.

I think I'm upto episode 6 now of Is This A Zombie? Typical entertaining enough harem anime. The bf loves all the pervy moments as per every harem lol.

Kokoro connect

Has many of you know I don't like

School settings
Love triangles
Romance

And this series has it all......

Now some of you would think il be giving this series a low score or give it a high score and just say something nice about it for the sake of it.....but

Kokoro connect is not only entertaining but insightful too with its deep ways of humans way of thinking.

At first I thought this series was going to be about funny gags and yes it has that too but it also has that feeling of wanting more.

The animation......KON
The story.........decent
The characters.......likable

It's something I hate but I can let it slide with clannad konan ......trust me this series isn't like kokoro connect but it's really good.

8.5/10

Gargantai

I like this series, it looks like anime I have seen in other anime but at the same time it feels somewhat new...

In this...I don't know how but a kid who was in space was fighting these aliens and somehow ends up on earth in the future and one thing leads to another and instead of knowing what the other is saying ........they speak different languages and don't understand each other and they slowly but surely try to understand each other..which I rarely S3 in anime

The animation is great
The characters are likable
That dancing...........I could watch that all day
Story decent

It's not something new but at the same time is

8/10

infinite stratos season 1 and 2

typical hearm anime if all the characters from hetalia was female that's what I thought in season one but in season 2 there was a lot of things that wasn't explained that I got in too like

1who does madoka hate her older sister
2why is she part of phantom task and loads of other things

these got me in to the series so much that I went and tried to find out in the novel which is unfinished on line......which is a shame cause this series has drama which is great.

the main male lead annoys the **** out of me his sooooo dense that im sure that he is gay .......not that theres anything wrong with that ......but seriously he is such a idiot

he is in a school full of girls who fancies him from big breasts to small from all different types of girls ...which annoys me to no end

animation really good
characters.....some annoy me some I liked some I didn't look twice ect
story the first season was a hearm but the second season I wanted to know more

its has its good bits and annoying bits

if only it would give me answers then I can die happy

( those of you who knows what happened in the manga or novel or what ever tell me because I want to know what becomes of madoka )

its first season was ok
its second season got interesting

7.5/10.....its decent but doesn't give answers

Lupin IIIrd: The Gravestone of Jigen Daisuke (2014)

Curiously split into two halves, despite being a cinema release (bookends for a double bill?), this feels more like an hour-long episode of a tv series than a theatrical feature, but it's none the worse for it, being an entirely welcome addition to the darker Lupin continuity set up by the Woman Called Fujiko Mine series. Its storytelling feels more lightweight than Fujiko Mine, possibly skewing closer to the spirit of the pre-Miyazaki episodes in Lupin's original tv iteration, but the hand of Takeshi Koike is clear to see in the deftly handled (if brief) action scenes. Not essential, but definitely worthwhile viewing.

From the New world

*clap clap clap clap clap clap* bravo bravo on core

This was a really great anime at first I thought it was going to be something else which I have seen before but omg its a real diamond in the ruff.

I won't give anything away but il just say this

Story 9.5/10
Charecters 9/10
Animation 9/10
Settings 8.5/10

I will say that this series kept me guessing And I'm really glad that they didn't do any stereotypes or reused character types or herms or anything like that which is nice for a change 95% of this series is original

Wish it went on a little longer tho cause in the beginning I didn't really What to make of it but after watching it from beginning to end I really really enjoyed this series

I think calling a masterpiece is pushing it a bit but I don't care

10/10

I'm so glad t I watched this and I'm going to get my mom to watch this

I highly recommend this anime

The garden of sinners-I love these movies. Some films where wrose on re-watch and some where better. 1-4 are 9/10, 5 and 7 10/10 and 6 was... The feels have been real throughout them all.

Berserk Movie Trilogy - 7/10

Got to be honest, I'm a massive fan of the TV series, so it probably comes as no surprise that these movies dissappointed me (and my wife). I'd already watched the 1st movie but waited for the 3rd to come out before watching the 2nd. For one reason or another I've only just got round to them and it's been some time since I watched any anime at all. So it is nice to back :D

I strangely enjoyed the 1st movie more on the re-watch but as a whole the movies lacked the character driven story that made the TV series so amazing, so much was cut that the relationships between the characters was a little on the thin side. I'd also say that the musical score was quite average (again something that was brilliant in the TV series). So it didn't grip me anywhere near as much.

On a good note though the battle scenes were well done, if I remember rightly some of the battles weren't shown in the TV series (probably due to costs). Also bar some shoddy CG, the animation was top notch and the violence remained intact.

On the whole though these just lacked the heart of the TV series and fall a little flat, although I did like seeing how the TV series should have ended. If I remember correctly, they ran out if money, massive shame as it would have probably took 1 or 2 more eps to finish it in a nice place. Would have been great to see the Skull king in the TV series.

I would however like to see more Berserk but in a series or OVAs. 3 movies aren't enough, and from the short descriptions I've read on Amazon of the Manga, there's a lot more Berserk to tell and something that wouldn't suit another 3 movies.

I was left feeling rather underwhelmed by them too - the first two movies in particular, suffer a lot from the jarring blend between CGI and 2D animation too.

That said, there's definitely strong moments in them - and the whole characterization of Griffith is incredibly well done.

The third movie, on the other hand, I think stands out far more, and is easily the best of the trilogy. I know a lot of people aren't keen on it because of the questionable subject matter; but as a visual spectacle and piece of 'shock' cinema, if you will, it worked for me.

Yeah I'd agree on Griffith's characterisation.

Strange thing is I enjoyed the 1st (on 2nd watch) and 2nd films but the 3rd was where I felt dissappointed although I would agree it's the best film. Maybe my expectations were too high, plus I thought we were gonna see a bit more after Gutz escapes from hell. Like how he gets his new hand and an ending where he was ready to take the next fight, maybe rushing into a fight right at the end but it was more somber. I just hope we get more and this isn't the end. Maybe my disappointment with the 3rd is more to do with the fact that it left me a little flat.

I hope we get some of the manga animated. Now berserk is just in two animes with the same part of the story covered.

Yeah, we need the rest. It's still going though isn't it? Although they could make more from the existing material.
