Whips? Oo-err ;) I still stand by my original sentiment that the writing is just "Here's a box of puppies being kicked, now cry, bitches." I'd much rather watch anohana. And besides, I thought you hated romance?

Given that I really don't like Clannad, I have no inclination whatsoever to watch Kanon and Air, since the general consensus seems to be that Clannad is the best of the 3.

Yes I do hate romance......but the romance in this isn't the main focus .......I mean yeah there romance between our main protagonist........but it's not like rumbling hearts or peach girl or sazuka ect....but instead it's focus is on sad every day moments like * do not read if you haven't seen clannad and after story*

our main protagonist realising that he's father was a hard working loving parent and he didn't see it.
He's friends moving on with there lives and he doesn't see them that often
He's wife dying
He child dying and him self dying from grief
Two other girls crying over the fact that they don't have a chance of getting there man
Two best friends sticking together no matter what
Our main protagonist realising that he shouldn't be a asshole around his daughter
And so many others

This is the reason why I love clannad yes it has romance but it's not the main focus of the series with love triangles and I'll steal him away and stuff like that and only that but it has loads of other scenarios that makes you emotional ............hell I'm sure if you was in a scenario like in clannad I'm sure you'd be crying and would understand cause you'd be seeing what happened to you.

Clannad has made me feel more appreciative tomy parents and I'm sure there's something in this that would put you in these characters shoes.

You clearly have a heart made of stone ^_- ( wink)

Legend of the Legendary Heroes - 6/10

Found this to be quite an average/generic adventure, military/war drama, nothing really spectacular here. Towards the end i found myself just watching it to finish the series and see if it got any better but it just didnt for me.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 9/10

Bought this off a recommendation had it on the shelf for almost a year but never got round to watching it till now, since the art/animation looked too cute for me. Wish i had watched it sooner, such an amazing series and much a deeper story than i expected. The labyrinths & witches took awhile to get used to as they just looked soo wierd.

Still talking about Clannad...

The thing about shows which toy with the viewer's emotions is that the viewer has to allow themselves to be manipulated for the drama to work, and if the show fails to get them emotionally involved the story falls very flat. In Clannad's case it plays heavily on the natural protectiveness that certain types of men feel towards girls, and some people simply don't think in the same way. I don't even find most of the things in your list sad at all ("Two other girls crying over the fact that they don't have a chance of getting there man", for example).

I found Clannad worth watching based on its quality alone but I can completely understand why someone wouldn't like it. In my case I was able to identify with the older cast members (no idea why, since most of their role was comedic ^^; ) but if they hadn't been there I'd probably have had a much harder time with the show. It knows its target market and isn't particularly trying to reel in people who aren't part of it.

@Rui

No not you too Rio.
About the two girls who realizes that he guy likes someone else won't make you sad because that sort of thing hasn't happened to you get what I'm saying?

With some of the scenarios in this series some people can identify them selfs ether because they know someone who has been in that situation before or they have experienced it before...........

With me I hate sad anime and romance anime and tragedy anime ........but with clannad and kanon they had the comic relief and had something else that made it one of my all time favourite anime series of all time.....

Ushio is such a cutey too.......I just want to eat her up

I disagree that the reason I can't see two girls crying that they can't be with the boy they like as being terribly sad is because I haven't personally experienced it. Have you been a girl in that situation? >_>

If anything it's probably the opposite; you find it much sadder than I do because you feel sorry for the girls. I don't feel sorry for them because nothing especially sad has happened to them; it's simple disappointment, and everyone experiences it now and again when they're growing up. Would you feel the same if it was two guys crying about the girl they like preferring someone else? I've experienced that from the point of view of the person being pursued, and to be honest it makes me a bit uncomfortable that people invest so much in hoping for things which involve other people in the first place.

Anyway, it's genuinely good to see that you enjoyed the show! It's a rare treat to stumble upon a really good series, isn't it? Clannad wasn't on that level for me, but then I doubt the series I obsess about the most seem quite as good from your perspective, too ;)

Well.I wouldn't be crying about two guys cry over a girl but I would be a bit choked about it for them to get there hopes up........

I did more then enjoyed it......it opened my eyes in one or two views ........like

nagisas parents giving up there dreams to look after there daughter
And
Motoyas dad looking like a bad dad but in reality was a really good father who like motoya lost his wife to look after him but in tomoyas case his daughter.......but tomoya didn't see it until he was in the same situation as as his dad and I was soooo touched by it I just wanted to cry which I did

It made me even more appreciative to mine.

Anyways what series do obsess about .......tell me and if iv seen it il tell you what I think of it

I tried to watch Clannad, but golly it's just too damn depressing! Don't get me wrong, i can see why you like it. It really is a beautiful show and the characters were interesting, but i just couldn't handle how depressing and downbeat the series was. So in the end i was only able to watch the first 9 episodes.

Do your self a favour and watch and finish it trust me I honestly thought I was going to hate it because I heard it was depressing and this is someone who hates sad, tragic, depressing anime................... but after watching it all the way though .......................I was up set because it ended I was so happy to of watched this beautiful anime .....It's one of those anime you must see before you die its that good.

I'm not being nasty or anything for you to watch it I'm saying finish it because you don't know what your missing............. kanon is the same it's depressing but in a good way.

I don't usually watch depressing anime again after watching them once but clannad became a anime that masked me want to watch it again and again.................It's like.....

Romeo and Juliet.......now most of you know I don't like romance anime and Romeo and Juliet is a romance anime but it's one of my favourites and its made me cone back and watch it again.

Please do your self a favour and give clannad another chance.........And while your at it watch kanon too and air..........in my opinion I think airs the most depressing but the animation and opening is soooooo nice the second half is kinda stupid but the movie cleaned that mess up even tho the animation wasn't as good as the series.

But air and kanon and clannad has became my favourite anime of all time...........

Hey guys do you think I should get my mum to watch these 3.........we're starting wolf's rain tonight and after that persona 4 and then a few movies.

I found Clannad nauseating and emotionally manipulative. "Here's a box of puppies. Now watch them being kicked. Cry, bitches"
 I'm sorry I must of misread that or you must have mistyped it............pleases rewrite your comment to the proper praise that clannad deserves ........or else
Ok, here's my comment with the proper praise that Clannad deserves;

I liked Clannad, it was an enjoyable watch. I preferred Kanon, as I felt the animation was stronger.

BUT! Right now I'm watching the final four episodes of Wolf's Rain, and just one of those episodes evokes more anguish and sympathy in the viewer than all 50 episodes of Clannad put together, and it's mostly because Wolf's Rain doesn't require the emotional complicity of the viewer to work. It's just good storytelling and character writing. If you don't sign on the dotted line and meet Clannad or indeed Kanon halfway, do half the work for them, then they'll leave you cold.

I prefer Kanon overall aswell I'd say

I enjoyed Clannad but you do have to let these shows draw you in as you say. I spoiled myself for AS 3-4 years back when I was reading a bit about it on the wiki (not really thinking I'd be watching the show in the future) and the impact was severely diminished, it just didn't hold up when I knew something was coming and how it'd be resolved later. The other elements were great though, I particularly liked the extra episodes that covered the story arcs that were cut due to incompatibility with the main arc.

I always find the end of Cowboy Bebop hard to watch, not just the last few minutes but the whole crew splitting up

Yeah I know what you mean......I accidentally looked at a video on YouTube about a certain characters .........death which was a shame because I knew that would of had a big impact on me if I didn't know.

It's like kanon I didn't have no idea what was going to happen and it hit me in some parts of the series.

Btooom

In the beginning I wasn't really in to it but when people started killing people with bombs and fighting for survival I was thinking...........battle royal movie and manga.

To start off
The main lead in this series voice is annoying especially what his background is,

The story is about a bunch of people who gets sent to this island to fight and survive each other to get off it and the way they fight is by bombs and there's all sorts of them which makes this series fun and to be honest I thought In some scenes it was funny to see people blow up ...........I'm not sadistic to be honest I wanted to know what was going to happen next but sadly the manga didn't do so well ( well so a little birdy told me) and has stopped.

The thing is I love survival anime or any sort of movies like zombies and such......
HOTD
DEADMAN WONDERLAND
battle royal

It's very interesting to see series and movies about people.who's trying to servive like this anime.

There's not really that much of a story .......Well there is but it first go any deeper.......It's almost like the series lost but with bombs.

I thought it was good but then again in story wise not so great I'd say it's ok.

I enjoyed it and wished there was more but again sadly the manga didn't continue so I can't find out what happens.

The Btoom manga is alive and well. Yen Press are releasing it. I think it's ended in Japan or is about to, but it's completed the story.

Really?!?!?!!!!! I tried looking for it and I thought it stopped.........Oh baby I'm going to look for it yay thanks

Night raid 1931

To start off .......this SERIES isn't bad in the least but it's has history about 1931 during the war but it's about a bunch of people with special powers who work for a agency who are spys.

I.couldn't get in to it til the 4-5th episode..........It's not that good but it's not bad I'd say it's above ok.

Sword For Truth

Wow. This is NOWHERE as bad as people say it is. It's far from perfect, but it's still enjoyable!

I have heard nothing but bad things about this movie, and most of the negativity comes from the animation. To me, it wasn't that bad. i have seen MUCH worse! Fair enough there are quite a few still frames here and there but it didn't come across as nothing BUT still frames! I actually thought the animation was pretty decent actually, especially at the beginning with the Tiger killing people in very grotesque ways.

I also praise some of the action. It was like a old Bruce Lee movie, in which the main character defeats waves and waves of enemies. i especially liked the fight with the invincible guy and the female ninjas. it was violent and very fun to watch.

Although there are a few flaws that stop me from giving this anime a higher score. No.1 alot of unexplained things. What happened to that invincible guy fighting the ninjas? He was last scene falling from a roof was was never seen or heard from again! The hell! Also, who was that ju-jitsu guy? And what exactly was the purpose of him? And also with the devilish looking dude at the end. Who and what the hell was he? No.2 the ending was way too abrupt. It just.....ended. and no.3, the dubbing for the main character was pretty naff, but that's more of a nit pic.

Overall, IMO Sword For Truth was actually a decent and fun, if brainless, OVA. Plus i bought it for 1p so i definitely got my moneys worth.

Listen to me girls I am your father

Who here has seen bunny drop......... I haven't yet but this story is similar to that but the difference is that its three girls instead

Hani is sooooooooooo cute.

It's basically bunny drop
