Funimation Discontinues Some Stock
Funi, in the process of transitioning their distribution to Universal Pictures, seems to be letting a lot of their catalog items fall to the way side. We got word this week that the following items have been discontinued and will not be reproduced:

FN-04569 Aquarion Season 2 Part 2 DVD/BD Combo Set
FN-06990alt Maken-Ki Complete Collection DVD/BD Combo Set (Standard)
FN-08172 Full Metal Alchemist Movie DVD
FN-09330 Hyperdimension Neptunia DVD/BD Combo (Limited)

All of these are now limited to whatever stock we have on hand. This does not mean they are not planning reissues of these series, only that the current release is sold out and won't be repressed. Also, when Vol #2 of a split release goes OOP, it usually means we can assume vol #1 won't be repressed either but just hasn't run out yet.
Bakemonogatari Limited Edition Pre-Orders Coming Soon on RACS
I'm happy to report that AniPlex's has passed word onto us that the Bakemonogatari boxed set that is sold out everywhere is going to be repressed and should be back in stock around late December or early January. We are now accepting pre-orders for it again for January delivery. Kudo's to them for letting a popular item run out of stock over the holidays - that's great planing guys! And of course, the price will still be the same. ~sigh~
Discotek Pushbacks
And we got word from Discotek that the releases of Library War and Saint Seiya have been pushed back a couple more weeks. Both are now set to street to Dec 8th. Nothing to report here, just that small studios do not carry as much weight with busy replicators and often have their projects pushed to the back of the line during the busy holiday season.

Funimation is premièring the English dub of Date A Live II at Anime Matsuri Hawaii. Sounds like this title will appear in the March line-up.

About time, really feels like Funimation have been sitting on some shows, I don't know if they've been hit by hold backs or what. Still wondering if they will ever re-release Geass in the US, they secured the licence so very long ago.

I know Date A Live II is a Kadokawa Pictures title so I wasn't surprised with the delay. What I am surprised with is how long it's taking for Maken-Ki Two to appear (it's another Kadokawa Pictures title), and before anyone asks the first season seemed to have sold really well on both Limited and Standard editions.

As for Code Geass. I was under the assumption they would wait for Akito the Exiled to be finished before releasing the original series but it sounds like Akito the Exiled will be out sooner than later (no thanks to Oh Dear). Funi did say that a couple Bandai rescues will appear in 2016 but have not stated what they were. My guess is probably Code Geass, Haruhi Suzumiya and Outlaw Star.

They have, they said on ANNCast that they were still waiting on assets for some of the Bandai rescues, to which Zac pointed out that they acquired the show(s) 3 years ago. Justin Rojas said they didn't want to be pushy, as they don't want to piss Bandai off too much.

I know they have to negotiate for some assets, and they ofc don't want to go in guns blazing and sour things but 3 years is quite some time really. I'd hope at least they have now got all the basic show assets and it's the extras they are working on securing because otherwise it'd be a joke.

Was going to order a copy from RACS this morning until I saw the $40 postage charge. That doesn't even include any possible import tax on it either...

You could always go with Amazon. Sure my P4A set did have marks but it's not noticeable (considering Chu2's size I doubt they'll use the same packaging as mine). Plus you'll get a refund from 20% VAT if it actually bypasses customs.

And ordered. Thanks for the heads up. Just finished watching the show today and loved it, well worth a CE. I know that RACS is smaller than Amazon but their shipping is ridiculous. You know much shipping was for that from Amazon? £6! Hell, VAT+Shipping only came to about £15! How they can get away with $45 shipping I'll never know.

So glad I picked up Chunibyp. Was on a wim because I liked the look of the set. The best decision ever, REALLY love that series. I hope we get a BD release for season 2 soon, the DVD is but I am not interested in that

Sailor Moon Region 4 Update:

A Blu-ray.com user has received their copy of Madman's Region 4 DVD release of Sailor Moon and has commented on the video quality:
There were no words to describe just how relieved I was when I began watching the first episode of Madman's release of Sailor Moon. The video quality is absolutely stunning for DVD. There's no ghosting during fast movements and there's no heavy DNR applied. No issues whatsoever!

It appears as though Madman obtained the Italian masters for their release of Sailor Moon on DVD. And, honestly, I think I'm going to stick with Madman's release and just sell my copies of Season One and Season Two of Viz Media's atrocious Blu-Ray/DVD release.
Apparently it's also NTSC.

NIS America have announced that another Aniplex title of theirs has expired with no plans of renewing:

Wagnaria!! Season 1

The series has only been released in DVD form as both Premium Edition and Standard Edition.

This is the next title to suffer from Aniplex as Anohana, Katanagatari, Occult Academy and Persona: Trinity Soul also expired.

Don't NIS have Wagnaria!! Season 3? Seems weird to not re-new if they have the most recent series :/ Surely it'd impact on sales if no one can get hold of the first season.

Odd.

Been hoping for a UK release of Wagnaria!!, along with Katanagatari as they're both titles I'd love to watch but can't do so legally :(
